Don't know if this is a re-post ... ... Anyhow if not, given the proliferation and interest recently with camera stabilization systems I thought it worth posting FYI: [acronym=EYE See! Retailers taking pre-orders - $699.99CAD Overview Features Tech/Spec Support FAQ [vimeo]http://vimeo.com/63762814[/vimeo] EDIT: [rant] I have ONLY one complaint, I know the Go-pro is a VERY popular camera but what I would like to see is a more 'universal' setup. I would like them to support more cameras, more than only the GoPro. Oh well I suppose we can always put our DIY skills to the task [/rant] -w00d
It seems these brushless gimbals are on the weak side and CG is an issue so I imagine we're going to see more of them tailored to a particular camera than a universal one that can handle all the other camera sizes and weights.
Most system I have looked at, in the documentation, talk about setting the cameras balance (CG) ... as for 'weak' motors I don't really see an issue, either the manufactures offer 'choices' or we "roll our own", DIY Meh "build it and they will buy it!" -w00d
Ya know I would love to build a cam-stabilization setup but I'm actually on the fence, waiting! ... Actually I'm waiting or considering first building a suitable camera platform, a 'QUAD' But 'Alas, my Poor Yorick!' ... I'm really waiting for the CASH to magically GROW on teh old proverbial Money Tree LMAO Needles to say it could (will) be a long wait
Well, the good thing about waiting is that this stuff get's a lot less expensive. Some of the 'Sunday Flyers" have built a few quads very inexpensively, I am always surprised at their success.
