Got bored with the winter, turning my tricopter into a APM controlled quad, why? Cause I ain't done one of those yet!

An Honest Man! I like this kind of logic.

Very nice! Is that the same APM system as your Bixler, or did you get a second APM? Have you flown this model already?

Just took the APM off the plane, change firmware and go! Still waiting on some props and things in the mail.

Are the servo connectors going to fit there after you mount the top plate? That's a lot of screws to remove when you want to add/remove, plug/unplug something.

Yeah, lots of room, can reach in there without taking the top plate off. Just don't want it wrecked when I wreck.

Got it flying, still waiting on new props tomorrow in the mail, but at least it works. All default APM Arducopter 3.1 settings. Looking for F450 settings online from other people.

It's flying pretty good with those settings. Have you hovered it outside with the GPS on?

That video was the first ever flight last night. Will try it outside today.

Flew really good outside, good response, good self leveling. However flipping on the loiter switch caused a reduction of throttle and it drops out of the sky. A Google search shows other people having the same issue. I need to clear all the log files, fly in It again, try loiter, then see what the logs show. Won't try RTH until loiter is working.

I am working on adding a camera to it today. Have the OSD too, not sure how far I will get.

Flew it with camera and FPV today, stayed up too long and the batt died, broke one prop. Only got 5 minutes from a 2200, but I think it is going bad, one cell was way lower than the rest.

Good that you weren't over the water. The video quality looks great, just some vibration. Must be your CCD camera.

No effort put into the camera, just slapped it on there and went for it, that was the first outdoor GoPro flight ever for the quad.
