Just found this. Looks interesting. They sell a complete ready to go package as well as just the receiver for using your own peripherals (definitely use your own peripherals). Using a better WiFi dongle and an HD (720p) cam will give better results/performance. Don't think a full 1080p cam would be adviseable as WiFi dosen't really have the bandwidth.
BUT - still looks like a nifty little piece of hardware :)

I installed the app on my iPhone and it is really cool. Lots of customizable features for each channel! It even has a demo mode for testing it out before you buy :)

Does the app allow you to program waypoints?

That's a bummer.  Of all the features that these new flight controllers and ground control stations are providing I want to have waypoints and I feel they should not be limited to some erroneous number either.

True, waypoints are a needed feature. But as you stated, they come on flight controllers. This is basically just radio system with a receiver and your smart phone/tablet acting as the transmitter. It does provide 8 channels for servos, plus 4 digital (on/off) channels for other things - lights, etc.

Good point.  I was thinking that since they are using a smartphone or tablet that the software might be able to do the waypoints, but they would need to know the position in space so a GPS unit would be needed on the airframe and the receiver would need to send the position back to the smartphone or tablet to perform the waypoint calculations.  I guess it wouldn't be called a receiver then but a transceiver.
