I clean my motor every time I go out and get it really muddy or dirty.

I run 3s. Gives that power to climb almost anything. I run 2s as back up. I dont bother with nimh anymore their to weak and short life. I do have some for back up too though.
How exposed where the wire before they melted. Is your esc getting to hot?

It wasn't at all the little rubbery deals were still covering them. But it was set with no drag brake from the factory and that's how I kept it but it was driving like there was a drag brake. But I can spin the tires on the table fairly easily

Yeah I left mine factory set too. It helps when climbing down hill. But if u have a brake on your radio. Make sure it is off.

What u never ran em before. Oh man. Your truck really comes to life with a lipo. I popped in a 3s in my sc10 for fun yesterday. Couldnt get a max speed the body turned into a parachute and started to lift off and do a backflip. Fun times but had to make it short. Because I balded the tires in 20 seconds.  Oops

True unless u binded up on rock or somthing and tried flooring it. I saw a kid do that to a night crawler. But still worked after we looked at it. And the plus side is that these brushed motors are cheap.

Yeah my buddy loved his stock slash. Then I told him to get a lipo and a charger. The guy at mild to wild talked him into a 9000 nimh. Which was decent.  Till I showed him what mine did with a mamba max brushless system and just a 4000 2s. His jaw dropped. .lol

If its the 20t that's a wraith motor and has reverse timing. When you changed axles and swapped everything around did you change motor direction? I see axial motors smoked all the time from running retarded timing in reverse. Make sure your running the motor in the right direction

Nope its out of a wraith and has only been ran with wraith axles

and you confirmed its running in the correct direction how then? They were wrong in a lot of the wraiths also. That's why so many wraiths burn the stock motors is they are running reverse from the factory on a lot of them.

No matter how I put the settings on my controller and I hold the motor in my hand the motor has more torque in reverse? I found the problem where my heat issues came from and its the front wheel rubbing the hub
