So after several weeks with the DX8 and MANY flights, I have to say - I LOVE IT!!! Another feature I found with this radio is if you leave it on (I know, none of us has EVER done that), it beeps and vibrates. Great for those of us that are sometimes forgetful ;) The rubber handgrips are excelent when flying in cold weather and wearing gloves! Other radios with the standard plastic cases are slippery and difficult to handle.
Overall, I can't find any issues or problems with this radio and am completely happy with my purchase!

Good to see your are enjoying your Radio GC ...

Yes I too dislike plastic hand grips on most things not only my radio. I have few hand held electronics with the rubber grips and it seems to me it gives them a professional and quality feel to them

Just to clarify when you say "if you leave it on it beeps and vibrates" are you saying it does after a short while when there's NO user input to sticks or are you saying it warns when it radio's batteries are getting low?

With my DX6i if I forget to turn off it's batteries would drain and then beep at the most inconvenient time, like 3am "inconvenient"  {LOL} This happened to me so many times so naturally I was so fed up I installed a 5mm Blue LED for a visual reminder to TURN the stupid thing Off ... Since then NO more 3am visits to my radio

The first thing I always do is unplug the battery in the plane. Then turn off the Tx. I forgot to turn off the Tx a couple of times, and after two or three minutes it starts beeping. If I continue to ignore it, it begins to vibrate and the beeping becomes more insistent! Not sure if it would power down after a while on its own or not, but the beeping/vibrating gets your attention and I don't see any chance of the batteries going completely dead.

Yeah that's a cool feature to be sure, with the DX6i we don't have that. The only time the Tx beeps is when the it's batts gets really LOW which allows a quick landing before the she goes competently dead ... Hehe, don't need a dead Tx while in flight I'm sure anyone would agree

Other than directly looking at the LCD Screen there's no indication that the DX6i is ON making easy to forget. It will stay on until it's battery goes dead ... With the LED I added it's makes seeing it out the corner of the eye that much easier

Anhowz the DX8 looks as it's an improvement over previous versions and the answer I was looking for ;) Thanks GC
