    You don't run heavy grease on race rigs. Also expensive parts can't be waterproofed.

    Do you not take it apart and clean it after you run to make sure it doesn't rust or have problems? Or am I just being dumb because that's what I do and I have some pretty expensive part? What car/trucks are you running? What parts can't be water proofed? I don't run heavy grease only light grease and I always oil everything. I have never raced pro. I would like to get in to racing again. I have been in this hobby for about 19 years and have been in a some races and always finished in the top 3....    :-\ :)

    I run all losi rigs and to give you a great example of parts that can't be water proofed, my $192.00 set of acer ceramic bearings are not sealed (they only come that way) and water can travel right through them which brings in contaminants and will ruin a set in one heat and take my rig out for a weekend. Another thing would be my fironi ergo clutch on my buggy at almost $300. Any amount of dirt that enters could contaminate the shoes and cause poor clutch action. I could go on and on trust me. Not to say that all my scalers and two basher rigs aren't waterproof. Those get beaten like a dumb puppy at a treat factory 8). My race rigs as just an FYI get torn down and maintained after each qual and heat race.

    Cool now I understand you have rigs that are strate racers and others that are bashers. Thats cool I wish I could afford doing that but I have a 3 year old and a wife. All my race rigs are my bashers just well taken care of. I literally take them apart every time and oil everything then put it back together of course i like tinkering with them. thanks for not getting upset with all my questions. ;) Hope to bash and race with you guys soon. ;D

    Well I apologize like I tell many if I come across harshly at times in words. I have a very brash tone in text for reasons I can't figure out  ???  Your always welcome to ask all questions just remember to take all answers as opinions and not always gospel. As for racing your going to have to travel to race in the winter.  Otherwise wait till summer and the pro series and also northwest series will start up and then that's when the fun starts. Get a scaler and come play with us winter boys!!  Crawling is probably the most fun I have with all my rigs.  Oh and as per affording it, sir I have a 6 year old and an ex wife payment so my budget gets hurt at times to  ;)

    Now when you say scaler what are you talking about? Is it like my 1/18th scale short cores truck or are you talking bigger? ???  I also have a custom nitro rustler and a t-maxx. Could I use any one of this. I was looking into getting into crawlers to. But I have one to many toys as my wife likes to put it because I have a ¼ scale boat, heli’s and a lot of fire arms. So I have been cut off and yes I am p^s$y wipped but its good. ;D 8)

    Ps Has anyone looked into making a track or tracks at the Expo ponds in central point?

    LOL [IMG]

    I had the same issues (somewhat) when I started with the 'forums'
    ... I found I was apologizing ALLOT just by the way I write ...
    ... In allot of ways this still holds true and I can be as 'GRUFF' as I've always been

    Now I just stopped 'apologizing' or was that being 'gruff' [IMG] Meh either one or the other other works for me
    ... LMAO "to know me is to love me" yup I can be as 'warm and fuzzy' as the next GUY

    Yes that has been tried many times before, problem is it is open land and if you build anything out there people are always able to use it with whatever vehicle they may have.  This basically means if you build a track out there you will find motorcycle tracks right through it at some point and it will be worthless.

    Second thing when I say scaler I mean crawler that resembles a real vehicle.

    @lscott,
    that was for a short time a cool little practice track.  I believe they (guy's across the street) were allowed to use it via Pacific Power or something like that.  I have bashed/practiced there many times with my 1/18 and 1/10 .  however, it's not kept up anymore due to a complaining neighbor (nitro guys ran there mostly).  It doesn't stop me from randomly fash-mob-rcracing there whenever i get a wild hare.  ;D

    Its sucks I can’t find a track to run my nitros on. :( I’m going to have to go to some open field some ware and bash around. I was hoping to have some kind of track. :( I am going to try to get out to GP and run on the carpet with my little 1/18th short cores. :(                  [move]:(!!!NO FUN!!! :( [/move]

    It looks like your car is pulling ahead of the no fun bus after a few laps.
