Sounds like somebody is getting screwed, but prices change. When I bought the last bit of pipe for J ville it was .60 foot from diamond.

I wouldn't put it past Ferguson to be high on some items. We do most of our business through Slakey Brothers so our discount at Ferg may not be that great.

I may be able to round up some of my personal old ABS pipe and fittings, enough to do a corner or two. Some stakes will be needed to secure the pipe to the ground, rebar could be a cheaper alternative.

we've made a few calls to the county, with no response.  will call again today.  have a proposal written, ready to go.  still playing the waiting game.  The RC track is probably the smallest fish they have to fry.  i would like to get the ball rolling before it freezes, oh wait, too late. :-\

well, in contact now.  it's gonna take some convincing, or educating for the county to realize what an RC track/facility is and or should be.  They seem to think that leaving the gate open form dawn to dusk is ok, and also let the prior occupants pilfer off all the pipe.  So now i'm gonna re-write my proposal, and maybe do a power point presentation w/pics vids of that track past and present, also the vids of what other tracks are doing.  I'm less than enthused about the latest info. but i'm optimistic about being able to convey that i have the facilities best interest at heart.  any ideas, feedback ?

They are very app to make it a "public place" because of all the bitching many of us did when the dictatorship was in place.  They do not want people to be "banned" they want a public gathering place like the ponds,  the circle track or raceway.  I do agree that the facility needs to be locked up when not in use otherwise your going to find a bunch of kids on BMX bikes thrashing it like we did many years ago.  Tell them that it needs to be like the raceway and events will be publicly posted, and that only "approved vehicles" can  be on the track which pursues the need to be locked up when not in use to avoid damage to the property.

What about the bmx track it self. Its not always open. But maybe they would let us race. The trucks couldn't be more damaging than bikes. Plus it would be extra income. Id pay $20 to play there. That's $100  for them from just 5 of us. Just an idea. Stop me if someone else brought it up..

Yes it's been discussed and the outcome as I gathered was NO, per the BMX guys the "toy cars" do tear up there racing surface since our smaller trucks are powered and can leave ruts.

I posted something about the track before but not much interest... track is more of a basher spot i think but we could do some racing too.. Ill try to get pictures of the indoor track.

    Hello,
My name is Scott DeLashmutt and I moved to Medford about 3 months ago. I am looking for a place to run my nitro rustler, t-maxx and electric 1/18th short cores truck. I was hoping you could point me in the right direction.  I would like to get into racing. If you know of a place can you tell me if the have days I could just run for fun? what days are races? The price to race and the price to run for fun or practice?

    Thank you for your time
    L. Scott DeLashmutt

We don't have any tracks available right now.  If you read this thread from the beginning you will see that they are working towards re-opening a track that previously belonged to a club in White City.  I do not know where they are at with that but I am sure they will be posting more as they find out from the city themselves.

Anyway, this time of year here in Southern Oregon you can just about forget racing outside due to the rain.  I know some folks go bashing in the rain, and there are plenty of places to go and do that, but I don't think any of the tracks will be open again until spring.

true that, not wanting to waste my hard earned $ cuz it's wet.  water will cause rust, rust = problems

the county deferred till after the holidays, hopefully this week we'll get some face time.  :)

Isn't that what water proofing is for, oil and grease. If you clean after you run rust will not happen. Of course if you don't then rust will. Its like not cleanning your gun after shooting. I always run in the rain. I like the mud and snow slinging. I also like taking my car/truck apart and clean it so I dont have to replace anything after I play in the water/mud. :D

I worked for John deere landscapes and the perforated drain pipe was ten bucks per ten foot. would that be cheap? of course that was 5+ years ago. 8)
