I was about 500 yards down the beach and using a Spektrum DX7 with an AR600 rx. I was far enough away that I didn't want to spin it around and loose orientation, so I just pitched back to bring it twards me. I was expecting it to start to clime and move twards me but it didn't, seamed like it just kept going. I had the auto level on so I just centered the right stick and clicked the throttle up two clicks hoping to see the reaction I was looking for but instead it pitched to the right and started to clime fast. I dropped the throttle two clicks and it started to fall quickly and pitch to the left. By that time it was about 10 feet past dry land. I throttled up again this time just past 3/4 throttle and it shot down at a 30• angle right into the waves. My brother was spotting for me and he took off down the beach stripping clothes as he went like it was one of the kids! I assume that a more experienced piolit might have saved her but it was beyond me. Guess I will keep it closer next time. I figure if I lost signal all together, it would have just fallen instead of the unexpected path. I have never flown there before so I guess there could be some interference that messed with the signal. I don't know, she's Neptunes now.

Sounds like a mighty exciting few seconds! Stuff tends to happen fast and there sure isn't much time to think up a strategy to save you. :) I'm curious about one thing. Was your DX7 antenna bent or straight out when this happened?

Did you lose the quad, or did you recover it from the water?

It was bent horizontally in line with the antenna on the receiver.
I keep going over it in my head wondering what really happened.
I had also been flying Saturday and Sunday on the same radio battery. Of coarse i didn't think about it at the time but I looked when I got home and my TX charge was at 10.2. Pritty low I think.
Since I will be starting from scratch again, any suggestions on the rebuild ? I don't have any complaints with this one( other than pilot error) but I was wondering about control board options ( liked the kk2 for price and ease of setup) and thoughts on the Orange Rx receivers.

Lost it all. Saw the splash and that was that. Maybe someone will come across it at low tide. We looked for a while but no luck.
