    Just a quick intro.
I live in Roseburg, Green actually, in a 55+ gated community.
Some of my friends and neighbors have become active with electric short course trucks.
At this point we are 5 in number, all running Traxxas Slash 2wd and 4x4's.

    I run a 6808 with a bunch of upgrades:
    Stock 3500 motor and esc
RPM A arms and body mounts
Proline powerstroke shocks, split 6 beadlocs, and calibers
    Fastlane Machine center diff
    Tekno cvd's
    Integy inner roll cage
    Boca Bearings
    Lipo s2 7.4v

    Mods include:
    sharpie driveline mod
custom mud/rock guards made from a skelatonized undertray
    VW Baja Bug body

The pic is of my first truck body paint job.

Hi Smitty - Welcome to the forums!
Where do you guys race up in Roseburg?  Do you have a track?  I have been looking for a place for a while now.  The closest track that has any activity seems to be in Klamath Falls and that's just a bit too far for me to justify.
Do your other friends run 4x4 short course trucks also?

    Love the sign: Over-The-Hill Raceway.

Over the Hill Raceway is a private track that we have created within the gated community.
My friends and neighbors have either 2wd or 4x4 SCT's. Mostly Traxxas.
We all run only electric powered. The noise of nitro would surely shut us down.

I'm working on setting up a lap counter/timer on the dirt cheap.
I downloaded a free (donations only) program that uses a web cam and motion detection.

On the first shakedown, we had mixed results because all of our trucks are simular in color.
The instructions state that each truck should be a single solid primary color for best results.
Plus, I need a longer usb cable for the camera and a power source for my old laptop.

The usb cable has been ordered and it's in the mail.
For power, I put together a dc voltage converter and a dc to ac inverter that will tap into my 48 volt golf cart. So the remote power issue has been solved.

Once the usb cable arrives I do another test run and report the results.

Do you have a link to those lap counter plans so I can have a look?

    Easy Lap Counter is freeware.
Uses a webcam and motion detection to count and time the laps.

I'm waiting for a longer usb cable to arrive.
When it does, I'll set up another test run.

We may need each truck to be painted a primary color.
Free is good, if I can get it to work.
