Agree.

Bill - I went to both our local DIY and home improvement places and could not find a mat like that.  They usually only have the type with holes in them.  Do you remember where you got yours?  If it was online do you have a link?
Sorry, ...I don't.  :(
It had been around here and unused for a long time before it became a heli pad. I have seen others similar, usually as padded mats used in the kitchen or where one would have to stand for a long time.
Just doing a Google search I found this one though I doubt I paid that much for the one I have. This one does look very much mine.

That's exactly the type of mat I am looking for, thank you Bill.  I just measured my DJI F550 and I would need 3' x 3' though instead of 2' x 3' in the link.  It is a bit spendy but still less that the roof of the van I want to try using it on...

I found a 3' x 5' version of the same mat that might be a better fit for us:

Wow, thats a lot of money, what I like about Bill's is that the edges have a round over, so you won't hook a skid on an off center landing, and it looks very portable.

I did notice they came in different sizes. Mine is actually kind of an odd size at 27X34 1/2".

I like how the table came out also ... Your right it makes the picnic table look really good

As for the BLUE I guess we can call that a 'happy accident', well around the photography crowd that what they call it! I'd like to say it was intentional but I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. Yes 'metallic' it does shine metallic don't it, it's nice I like

EDIT: Well it is the heli GALLERY so here's my darling 450 again ... This time I have been playing with the post processing on this old shot,
applying what I've learned about my Photo Editors "sharpening" and the "selective focusing" tools ;)

The ones on Amazon also have a beveled edge and I agree with you that is is a important feature.

More of my PRÓTOS 500 for the GALLERY ...

The shot was an older photo which I reworked with my Photo Editor ...
... but the only change was the colour of it's background which was the 'fugly' Chroma Key Green, CLICK See PIC --->

The heli itself was shot just after purchasing, just out of it's box, just before she was built when she eventually received

Thank you w00d, you made my horrible photo look professional.  The MKS servos really pop and the nice aluminum head looks as good as it does in person.

Busy busy, been busy again re-working my old photo's [IMG]

To follow was the old, first Fleet Photo (used in my SIG) which at the time I thought was good but I think I surprised myself with this new picture. This time I did quite allot but just to list a few of the things I've modified, first and the most obvious change was the smoothing out of all the ALL teh joints between the floor planks. Then I fixed the 'White Balance' w/ a little 'Sharpening' and I then 'Re-sized' the shot ...
... Overall maybe 1½ hour of work

So we're almost finished (if we can ever say we're finished) re-working ALL the Heli photo's in my 'Signature' ...
... Have a look, ALL my Helicopter's

          [My FLEET]  [TRex 450 / No Canopy / Bell UH-1[PRÔTOS 500  ]  [mini PRÔTOS 450 w/ Night Blades]  [GAUI ep200, ep255]  [BLADE mSR]  [TRex 100]

Next on my Hit-list are the GAUI's but for them I think maybe I will simply re-shoot ...

Again, thanks for looking

EDIT: After posting this post I worked on another of my old SIG Photo's. This time I re-worked my MSHeli PRÔTOS 500 shot ...
... But I didn't do so much this time except to cleanup it's background and 're-sized' making it more suitable for a 'Signature' photo, loads quicker

Click picture to compare w/ the original shot ;)

EDIT: Another SIG Photo modded but obviously not a helicopter this time

HaHa, I was at a site where they we're modding the software in those 'hover craft's' making em do all shorts of crazyness! Like dancing and some are even putting FPV Camera's on the stupid things and driving em around w/ game controller's ... LOL, well they did put a USB port on the things so naturally people HAD to MOD the firmware

Well fellas, remember this shot. I was pretty proud of the looks of this threesome but the MD500 is pretty rough looking now.
I had the chance to take it out and fly on Monday and it wasn't in the air 30 seconds and I dumb-thumbs it in to the ground. :'(
I've not had the heart to look it over to closely but what stands out with out tearing it down is blades, main shaft, main gear, at least one servo gear stripped, multiple links bent or broken, tail fin broken, both left side landing struts broken and several scrapes and minor cracks in the fuse. She'll not likely look that pretty and shiny again.
