I have one of the MicroBeast controllers on the way.  :)

I've watched the videos of fellas flying FBL without electronic help, that's why I thought I would at least try it.
When those blades spin up and there is a feeling of very little control, the first thing that comes to mind is.....something near $100 in blades gone in an instant if that bird tips over, and that is if your lucky and nothing else gets taken out with them.

I'll be able share what I learn with you when you're ready for yours wOOd.  ;)

    Congratulations ...

Looking forward to seeing your build using the little Beast

Did you get the USB option for the setup using the PC [IMG] I know I will as I just hate setting my electronics w/ the sticks

I've just spent the last hour or so reading the documentation and your going to have allot of fun, tons of adjustments and options to choose from
Although the setup does look relatively easy and it's said the factory defaults are pretty close for most

Hey I'm sure you remember nexgen and his video's of him setting up his MicroBeast on the TRex 250
Apparently he's also put it up on his own website now ...
But now I see he's built a few more heli's using the Beast.

Should be more informative, check it out ---> the Front Porch

    PS:
haha I know that feeling, when my Huey got light on the skids the feeling that followed wasn't very comforting to say the least.

"feeling of very little control" just about sums it up ;)

Yes I did. I found a seller with a sale, so was able to get the combo deal for a little less that what just the unit would have been. $197.99 for the works.  ;)

I have read that too. The MicroBeast website has a lot of good information also, including quite a servo list. Just indicate which software version you have and what language you want to see it in. It covers mine and many many more.  :)

Thanks for nexgen's link. If I find myself scratching my head, I'll see what he has that might help.

The MicroBeast controller arrived today but the weekend is to busy to install it.  :(
It looks like a good project for the first of next week because it appears winter is coming back.

Congratulations Bill!  The weather report for down here looks bad too for next week.  Indoor building and repairs are on the menu for me also.

I was thinking just the other day about your Vibe and was going to ask what you've been doing or at least what you we're thinking  [IMG]

It's been on my mind a lot lately also.  Some other projects took precedence and then there were some emergency repairs that came up too.  This weekend I watched Pelagic Pilot fly his Blade 450 3D and it got me thinking about my lonely Vibe.  Then the quad bug bit me and that distracted me again.  I really want to do some FPV, but this weekend Pelagic Pilot was telling me all the cool stuff the DJI WooKong WK-M can do and my buy-now mouse finger started getting twitchy.

I certainly LIKE the LOOK of the DJI F-450's Airframe (Google Images), she's a "looker" for sure

{LMAO} Assuming a QUAD can LOOK good [IMG]

... and the electronics package(s) certainly looks to be an all inclusive solution eh,

BOTH look interesting thus worthy of more investigation, meaning the PRICE?

Rick, a local flyer, had that DJI quad airframe at the weekly Redwood school fun-fly a couple weeks ago.  It looks just as good in person, and if you watch the DJI video you can see that it must be nearly indestructible.  It seems to be made of a filled nylon.

Okay guys, I've not got far with the MicroBeast gyro change yet, but I have found some good videos to help those of us (me) along who are sometimes challenged with these marvelous little electrical gadgets.
The first one is from nexgen, and if ya really didn't get it there, the second is a whole series of short one step videos from HF. :)

I haven't looked at the Helifreak videos yet, but Nexgen's was top-notch as always.  I was hoping he would join in with us here.

I looked at the Freak video's yesterday and thought they were pretty good ... the kid could have done better with his speaking but I was for the most part able to understand what he was trying to get across. I did like how he's divided each setup function into a separate video which makes it much easier to review a specific function if and when needed. Yeah, I thought he did a pretty good job ...

My heli now has the MicroBeast on board, this morning I'll start going through the setup process.

wOOd, if you hadn't checked yesterday, there's a new update on the Phoenix. It resolved a couple of the bugs I had. Don't know if will cure the issue you were going through though.

Thanks Bill, yes I'm certainly going to check them out ... This update just might FIX my troubles

The Update Info says "Fixed an issue with very low-end graphics hardware when changing flying sites"

    Although I have some resentment at their implication my card is VERY Low-End {LMAO}

Sure I wouldn't mind em calling it "Low-End" but NOT "Very Low-End" ... Now that just hurts  :'( :)

{LOL} Joking aside that sounds like my problem, fingers crossed

I actually didn't realise it until today but all of the videos are nexgen's.
He and I got my Beast setup. ;)
Now to fiddle with the throttle and pitch curves a little and we'll try another spinup and see how it goes.
