Good stuff Bill.  It looks like you will be doing a test flight soon.  Is that the control rod type that the inside is plastic (moving part) formed like a spline?

Does it move really smoothly?  I've seen them advertised but never seen them in person.

{LOL} Hey I'll work for FREE, for forum members ...

... Give me a photo of your favorite "whats-it" and I'll see if I can turn them into "something" worthy of showing Mom and Pop

Restoration of the moldy oldie prints I've gotten pretty good at bringing back to life. Yup I mean teh restoration of those
near lost colour photo's from the 7o's and 8o's. Which I might add are failing at an alarming rate, colour photography certainly
has failed the test of time!

Remarkable that we can go back to pretty near the American Civil War or as early has the 1826 when the first permanent
B&W photograph was produced by some french dude, yes I looked it up and still were able to view them. But given colour were
LUCKY to see any prints get past 30 year without any special precautions having been made to protect them

Anyways yeah I'll work for FREE [IMG] Practice is practice and any opportunity is an opportunity

    PS:
ANyone tried The GIMP Photo Editing Software, open source and totally FREE that's giving PhotoShop a run for it's money.
Yes Yoda it was developed for the Linux Platform and Window support was thought of as an afterthought

Anyhowzzz for those who haven't try ---> Teh GIMP

Another to TRY that also come highly recommended is Paint.NET

Sure send your PICS to my email, which I have make active for forum member.

I would only ask when taking your shots is don't let the background get too cluttered ...

... this in short makes for less WORK and an overall better result  [IMG]

Thank you.  I will make some tomorrow when we have some daylight.  I'll use a different background, one that is a solid color.

Finally got to do a spin up, actually several spin ups this morning.
It does not look like I will get this thing to fly as set up. I think she's going to need FBL electronics. When it's just about to lift off it becomes very unstable so I never got more than light on the skids, err--- plank.  ;)

It looks great Bill.  Which flybarless system do you think you'll be using?

I am working on that now.
The Align 3G or the Gaui GU-365 both have a pretty attractive price. It looks as though the Gaui will operate with either analog or digital servos which would be a big plus because I am using the original Hitec analog servos off the other 500. Looks like I have some reading ahead of me.  :)

    PS:
Your doing great on that quad John. Cool videos.

I think you run a Futaba don't you Bill?  I was going to suggest the Spektrum AR7200BX that combines the BeastX with the receiver but that wouldn't be any good with a Futaba system.

Thank you for the compliment.  I'm still working on getting smoother with the flying.  This quad is a lot of fun to fly.

    Yes, I'm a Futaba guy.  :)

Looks like Microbeast V2 will also also operate analog servos.

    Oops, I missed this.
Yes, it does seem pretty smooth. It's important to get the outer sheath held down so it doesn't move around though.

Looks like the Microbeast is probably going to be the unit for my heli.
    It's V3 now.  :)

wOOd, did you get one for your Huey?

I was going to say that with all my reading if I ever get a FBL it will be something Beast.

Nope not yet, funds are really tight right now.

Without getting too much into it I have allot of "paper/phone" work to get out of way before I can get get my disposable cash back into circulation

Here's a PIC for Yoda on how those cables work --->

I hear ya. I hate when that happens.  :(
I was hoping to hear you had one and could give a little insight.
I have read mostly good things about them, the price is certainly much better than what I paid for the V-bar.

I've found a couple of vendors that have markdowns on the Beast, I will probably get one on the way so I can get this heli finished up and off the table it's been on for some months now.

Thank you for the image of the cable w00d.  That is the system I thought Bill was using.  Very interesting system that.

I'm looking forward to seeing more build photos of your four bladed scale copter Bill, and of course some videos of it flying.

Will do.  I haven't done a video for some time, it's going to be like learning to do it all over again.  ::)

You can and Bill will probably agree that you will feel the difference between the stock version and this new cable (forgot it's name).

Certainly less drag on the new one!

Yeah I read the posts of guys (hotshots) saying they can be flown without some form of stabilization but have yet to see these people actually do it.
Maybe they CAN but again I've yet to see it ...
    Certainly wasn't the hotshots who were quite adamantly stating we could that's for sure {LOL}

My "funding" will get better just gotta work a little to get there. Probably after TAX time which is FEB and MAR up here ...
Anyway shooting for early Spring as I have the Beast to buy and I wanna get me a QUAD damn it.
I've had the QUAD itch for too long now it's making me nuts, hehe or should I say "more nuts"
