I think it'll work ok. The video quality could be better but it's good enough for now. Tomorrow I'll start transferring the gear to the 450.
The gear is all moved over to the quad now and ready for the first flight with it. All I need is a little fair weather and some open space. I wasn't able to get the tilt for the camera to work. Fatshark wouldn't play nice with Futaba, at least for now. Don't know what the issue is for sure but I've given up on using it for the time being.
After a couple of glitches this morning I finally got a flight in this evening. Not much to look at, "baby steps and boring" but it was a step forward. I need more space until I've built up a little stick time.

Sorry about that fellas I didn't make the switch to public when I finished editing. It should work now.
The reason I asked is because I would have thought that there would be fewer dropouts for the distance you were flying.
It's similar but not as bad as it was on the truck. Whenever it gets behind something, it will start dropping frames. You notice the patio roof was blocking my line of sight when it was doing most of it. That is the down side of the 5.8 system.
Are those the model that have the antenna "wings" inside a plastic housing? Don't know about the weather. It's crummy down here also. Just when we thought it was going to be nice a while.
You know, I wasn't sure myself what the inside looked like but found this page that shows it pretty nicely. Even a nice little review/tutorial by Bruce on RC model reviews. http://www.pyramidmodels.com/shop/p..._antenna_suitable_for_fat_shark_based_systems
Those look pretty nice inside. It looks like the wire has a flat profile, almost like they were stamped from sheet copper. I like when these style antennas have a cover because I would be afraid I'd bend the leafs and throw the whole thing out of whack.
