Well in all honesty, and as you might suspect, my ground crew could care less about the craft. ;)
His real interest is in the landing pad. It's his favorite spot if I leave it out. It's much warmer to sit and lay on when the concrete is cold and wet.  ;)

Your ground crew needs to learn to read.  That's a "H" on that pad, not a "C".  ;)

NAZA has come out with an update for the ATTI drift issue. It lets you trim for ATTI mode. I've been working on the 600 again but don't have enough batteries for her. :(
It does seem to work well for the ATTI mode but now GPS mode is having problems. It gets to shaking like the gyro is set to high when it drifts to the outer limit of the GPS circle it should stay within.
As soon as the batteries are charged I'll do some more experimenting.

Just as soon as I get it flying like I think it should, then you bet.
It looks like we have several days to look forward to with temps in the low 50's so the weather is cooperating.  ;)

Good luck sorting out the shaking.

We are supposed to have 57 degrees today, but it doesn't look like it out my window.

Fog and low clouds cleared away about noon and then the sun came out with only a few high clouds around. Very nice.  ;)

DJI suggested upgrading the firmware on the 500 to see if it would fix the initialization error and it did.
Now I have the right drift issue with it after the upgrade. At least it's its fixable now.

I did get a number of flights on both helis, all testing, changing settings and testing again. The 600 does very well in normal and atti now but in the GPS mode it still gets the shakes. I moved the TX gain down to 15% with no change so more fiddling tomorrow. There are gains in the assistant that can be tweaked so I guess that's the next step.
You mentioned having to go up on the values with the quad, so I'll start at about 110% tomorrow and inch it up a little at a time and see what happens.

We had amazing weather down here too.  I managed to get in about four flights and even some night flying.

It sounds like you are making progress Bill.  Did you shoot any video or make some photos?

I hope we get some more of that weather today!

We have a very grey day here today, wet every where but no rain. Hopefully it breaks away later.

I'll try to get something on video this weekend.  ;)

Same down here and it doesn't look like it's going to change soon if at all.  I guess that's the price for such an amazing day yesterday.

Here you go, finally did a little video of the 500 in my pretty tight back yard.
At about :35 I switch to atti mode and 1:00 to gps and it begins to drift a little to close to an arbor just out of the frame so I move it back. At 1:18 I switch back to normal and as you see by the sudden drop I've moved the throttle stick slightly down. That happens one other time also. Enjoy..  :)

Well ya SOLD me on 'stabilization' ... Sorry guys but I just didn't believe in it!?!
It was NO  'stabilization' for w00d, BUT now I'm rethinking my opinions ... Cool VID

Hey GPS I wouldn't mind seeing a VID of your multi-rotor up close?
... I believe I've only seen one little STILL photo of your, I forget, what is it 8 or 6 rotors?

The one thing the system does allow me to do, is look momentarily away from the heli when the NAZA is controlling it with out much worry of where it will be when you look again.
It does a somewhat better job of hovering than I do too and normally I wouldn't even think of trying a slow pirouette in my back yard.  ;)

Your 'slow pirouette' was what impressed me about the system ;)

WOW!  That is really sweet Bill!  I agree with Pelagic Pilot about the sound too.  It's not indoors but still pretty close quarters flying and the slow pirouette really sells it.

Are we going to see the 600 in a video soon?

Thanks for posting the video.  Any particular reason you disabled embedded viewing?

As soon as the weather settles again I'll work on getting it dialed in, then a video of it too.
