I believe you're right John, I think that's why it's recommended to have the gps receiver as far down the boom as possible so the gap in the blades as they pass over would be as wide as possible. Guess it makes sense.

I wonder if that's why they have something like this:

I know you must have been flying that 500 by now.  ;)

Yes, this one is good. Now I have the other one apart and am installing a NAZA in it.  ::)

Which one is that?  You have a Naza-H in your non-scale 500 and 600 and now in your scale 500?

Yes, all three. The scale 500 is the lite version, no gps.
Every thing is still all apart on the bench and the weather has turned so nice it'll have to sit until it goes sour again.

It was nice weather down here today but right now we are having some decent thunder and lightning.  Good thing I got some flying in earlier.  8)

Weather man says the next few days are supposed to be good here. Today I pulled the boat out and cleaned her up a bit, tomorrow I'll see if I can the some stick time in. The Funcub has yet to be flown so it's first on the list.  :)

I can't believe that you haven't got some new video for us with all the great weather Bill.

Yes, the weather has been beautiful, but windy. No excuses really, the heli's do well in the wind. Just lots of other stuff going on too. ;)

Sounds like we've had similar weather, a little more windy than optimum for flying.  I did get out last weekend anyway, my hexacopter can handle wind quite well, but my videos turned out more shakey than I like.

NAZA had a new update that I've installed on the PC. I've not reset the 500E with it installed yet but I need to. It might help with the tail kick I can't seem to get rid of. If that doesn't work I'll need to pull the frame out of the fuse again and double check that every thing is running smooth.

I hope the new firmware solves the problem for you.  I am curious to hear what else you like/dis-like about the new software and firmware.  Is there any new feature in particular that you like?

    I really don't know.

    *Fully optimized Flybarless algorithm.
*Optimized braking feeling of tail gyro.

The above is what is supposed to have changed. I am hoping the "optimized braking feeling of the tail gyro" may help with the issue I'm having though.

I have no idea what a "fully optimized flybarless algorithm" is.  ???  It sounds important though.  :)

Is a multi-blade head considered flybarless?

I have it programed as such and if it were not for the tail bounce it would be fine.

I'm looking forward to hearing, and maybe also seeing, how she flys after you update the software.  You almost inspired me to finish that JR 500e...almost.  ;)
