Some Bixler/Easy Star stuff, found this video, good info, I was wondering if I could carry a 3300 3s, I guess it is a yes. What kind of ground station antenna is he using?

He's just using a 9 element Yagi with vertical polarization. Easy antenna to build. I'm surprised he's on 2.4GHz. He said he could carry a 5000mah batt. Wow! Looks like the transmitter is on 430 MHz.

I didn't think it would be that big for 2.4G

Yep - Look at the element length and not the boom. It's a long boom so lots of gain and narrow beam width. I'm sure it works great for the way he's using it. Wouldn't be very good if you were just flying around.
