Thanks cripplek-I need to inventory my OFNA GTP wish list.I will need some help getting that Slash dialed-the center diff had a melt down too & I put the stock slipper back in.
LscottD- the 1/10 "truggy" came as an RTR W/ A Velineon motor/esc., and a Spectrum DX3c radio,sr300 reciever, and a s6010 Spectrum servo. It had some "loose" stuff on it & will need some run time to see if the motor has came appart too (I think it has) :-\ - $34.00 for cvd's, $25.00 for a front brace,wheels/tires(?)-I re- did the shocks and swapped out the 17mm hubs that were made for a Slash, for something not as sloppy.Diffs seem to be good= soooo ??? might be a runner?
-----------the LST is alot of fun,but it's a basher & has the stock engine=not too fast, but fun for sure.

I bought an OFNA 1/10 scale truggy hyper 10(brushless) that may have a hand in setting me up w/ a brushless on road car (if it doesn't become one ;) we might need to get you into 1/10 scale on road  :)
...I might be looking for an Associated TC 3 or(?? =not really confident w/ belt drive & parking lots though) ???

yeah, the last time I was there (Harbeck), the front "parking area" made a nice oval. The surface was in pretty good shape too.Summer time & or pretty much Saturday only, but there is a couple of places in G.P. that will work (a few in theMedford area too). LOTS of empty business space available. I have been looking at a few spots, to do unscheduled Go Kart parking lot races  ;) M y neighborhood is too close to the H.S., to get away w/ it durring the school year.

We have a Associated TC4 and a XRay T3. I also have a Associated TC6 kit still in the box.

BTW: If anybody is interested in a XRay let me know, I would not part with it cheap, but I don't really need three on-road cars.

Yes. South Middle School on Harbeck. It's the best on-road surface and layout in Grants Pass. Look here:

    http://southernoregonrc.com/index.php?topic=278.0

The front parking lot has a really nice "island" that makes for a great oval, but the parking lot is very large and also allows for a Grand Prix style course because of a dogleg. Plus there is a small embankment that you can setup your lawn chair on and drive from a elevated position with good visibility of the entire parking lot.

The TC6 is still in the box, it's a kit and not yet assembled.

The XRay T3 is currently setup for drifting with a brand new painted body. Look here:

    tc6=$400.oo roller=WOW
I do see an advantage w/ the motor placement though...I wonder if they improved their diff life (?)

Actually I don't know how the differentials are in the TC6, but I am not a ball bearing differential fan anyway so I will probably upgrade those to Spec R gear diffs:

    http://www.spec-r.com/default/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=45_46&products_id=240

Spec R makes gear diffs for many popular models, check them out. They also make some other very nice upgrade parts.

EDIT: I wish I had held out on the TC6 because the TC6.1 has some features out of the box that I wish I had. The TC6.1 already has a rear gear differential and the way Associated did the sway bars on the TC6.1 really is very nice. The TC6.1 uses short sway arms that attach to the lower "A" arms like conventional sway bars, but at the back they attach to a bearing supported aluminum bar.

I agree-ball diffs seem to suffer melt downs=(don't last as long), but adjustments are made way faster (turn of a screw) apposed to changing diff oil.
TC6.1's  look pretty nice ;)...what do the competitors have to offer? I would be looking for something less costly.

In my opinion the best value right now is the Team Associated TC4 Club Racer:

    http://www.teamassociated.com/cars_and_trucks/TC4/Club_Racer/

I feel this way because it is a great car and parts are readily available locally and also because there are tons of aftermarket hop-up and upgrade parts available. The Club Racer gets you into a car now at a great price (you can get them at any of the online or local hobby shops for $150). It is a roller so you will need your own electronics, but that way you can also make it the way you want. It's kind of like a open source on-road RC car. :)

I forgot to add that the TC4 can easily do drifting too.  I have done on-road racing with mine both indoors and outdoors and drifting is just a tire change away.  You will get a lot of use from this car.
