I have been looking at the same combo for my drifter.  It should be just fine.  The only thing that keeps me from getting it is I'm wondering if a sensored motor would be better.

Are we meeting this weekend?  I'm looking forward to finally getting out there.  I may not have a lid but I will have a car.

Here is a good explanation from Novak's website: Sensored brushless ESC motor systems always know the position of the rotor. This is especially critical at low speed as well as at the start condition when there is no rotor movement. With the proper rotor position information, the ESC can apply power to the correct rotor phase combination.  With a sensored motor there is an extra wire that goes from the motor to the esc.

Looks like I may have to move to GP. See you guys sat.

Brushless Motors: Sensored vs. Sensorless - Team Novak

Same Link first posted here -  Southern Oregon RC

QUOTE: "Sensor based motors are most often used in applications where  the starting torque varies greatly or where a high initial torque is required,  such as in a RC car.  If one looks at the industrial or aerospace applications of brushless motors, one would be hard  pressed to find sensorless motors being used due to lack of starting torque and unreliable  operation under noisy electrical conditions. Sensored brushless ESC motor systems always know the position  of the rotor. This is especially critical at low speed as well as at the start  condition when there is no rotor movement. I seen a video trying to figure out how, i would build the over pass. Which helped me decide this needs to be stationary. Let me see if i can find it again. Its real shrot.

Thats cool. I can lay down the ground cover first. But ill need help with the overpass. In thinking were it could come down off the deck up the putting green and back.
