Here she be. Heres one of the striped pully this is what happens when over powered.  Drifting is not about speed. Brushless is used more for its low maintenance and smooth flow. Based off what I've learned.  I'm no expert.

Didnt think to take photos when taken apart.  But yes it was a pain in the ass just to replace belts. But now its all back together and drifts. This chassis was totally designed with counter steering in mind with the front motor and majority of the weight in the front makes you always countersteering.  This will be a nice ride for the more precise drifting as shown in some videos by "drift44". It's nice and smooth but my favorite one is still the hpi ProD.  But hey I have 3 now. Let's get a session goning. I have plenty of cones and road barriers to set up a quick drift layout.

Thats some serious steering throw! Does it run a cv shaft or bone. Do you guys ever have axle problems or is that not even an area of concern?

The sakura has cv shafts. But dog bones would be nice, for when feeling like some rwd. Unless I remove the front belt which I won't get into unless I need to. Axles are not really a concern. Not enough friction I quess.

I was surprised to see the gear worn like that.  I would have thought the belt would wear out first.

I wasn't.. u must not have met Richard.  Lol... just kidding.  The belt is actually very tough. Its the same material used in your car. The gear is like a hard crayon. It will prob happen again.  I got some aluminum one coming as well as a taller tensioner mount.

Yeah I agree, I think the part should be made from aluminum.

Have you posted any videos of this one drifting?

If you have time to go drift this weekend at Harbeck let me know and I'll meet you.  I can bring a car and do some camera work if you want.
