Very well done tutorial - but OH MY GOD!!! Some people have way too much time on their hands and far more patience than I. Thanks John :)

That was cool!  Did you notice how many different lathe tools he ground to use on the project.  Actually, I'm sure he already had a lot of them, but still - what a lot of work!

This can only be a work of love.  The rest of us can just keep sending HobbyPartz our $15 and be happy.  :)

I wonder how they perform.  I have some seriously powerful (neodymium?) magnets from my Slot Car days and the ones he used looked like the ones I have.

Oh heck!  If you have the magnets, you're almost done.    ::)

yep - That's how it works.  You just press START!  Metal goes in one end and motors come out the other.  Piece of cake!  Heck - Mike could make a half dozen for you after work some night.

Yeah, I could whip out that program in what - under a minute? ONLY have to custom grind half a dozen tools or so. And heck, I'll bet 6061 bar stock comes in that exact diameter to save turning the outter surface of the can. Geez, I don't know why people think this whole CNC stuff is such voodoo! Like Tiger said, piece of cake 8)

The machines are so good now I think you just show it the metal and tell it what you want it to make.
