I come up with about 2,300 feet at the longest point. I honestly do not know how you can do this? A telescope? I can't see beyond 700'

Do you really think it was that far?  I felt I had set a new personal high water mark today.  I was seriously worried that I was going to lose radio contact.  Maybe Spektrum isn't so bad after all.  ;)

I do all my flying eyes on.  You've seen me do it earlier this week, but on that day it was cloudy and darker.  Today despite what the weather report was saying around noon we had good conditions with little wind and sunshine so I decided to go for it.

Have you got a "return to home" on there?
This is why I was thinking you were flying fpv the other day.  ???
I was guessing at least 1700' by going back and fourth between your video and google earth using the path tool.

The water tank you flew over is 2,300 feet from the school and so is Frost's junk yard. Heck, you flew beyond my house from the school! Yeah, at least a half mile at the furthest point.

I do not have a return to home programmed.  I don't believe that it is possible with my radio gear, and if it is it seems that it is only possible by faking a fail safe and I do not know what would happen so I am not eager to try it.

You both came up with numbers greater than I was thinking.  I thought I got 1200 feet away.

You really have some good eyesight John. I'm not sure I could see your multirotor at half that distance.
My eyes aren't near as good as they used to be though. ::)

Thank you Bill, but I also would say my eyesight is not what it used to be.  I was wearing my glasses for that flight and compared to just my sunglasses I can see the distance a little better.
