Tricopter Using Ducted Fans

    This is very cool. I didn't think ducted fans would work on a multirotor. Another cool design feature is that he does not rotate the tail fan out at the end of the boom like most tricopters but instead inboard near the center of the chassis. This keeps the weight distribution more equal and balanced compared to having the servo out at the end of the boom.

    It looks like the body is modeled after one of the hunter killers in the recent Terminator movie. In that sense it is pretty cool and the ducted fans make it more accurate. I am surprised he gets that much lift and turning response from the fans.

    The other thing is how he rotates his tail fan. He's got the while rear boom rotating off the servo which is inboard mounted. Very nice.

    It looks like the body is that foam that is so popular with the airplanes I see at the Sunday flying.
