Here's a newb question. Can a single receiver be bound to two different transmitters at the same time? I have the stock traxxas 2.4 ghz transmitter currently bound to the Slash 4x4. I also have a new FlySky FS-GT3B that I would like to add the Slash 4x4 as one of the 10 models it can accomodate. I would like to use either transmitter, but not at the same time.
The above is for the AR6200 air receiver, but holds true for all Spektrum receivers using DSM2 technology. Source: http://www.spektrumrc.com/ProdInfo/Files/SPMAR6200.pdf
The TQ Traxxas Link 2.4GHZ radio system allows for twenty (20) transmitters to bind to one receiver. Also allows for up to tweny (20) receivers to be bound to one transmitter. This system was developed so that owners of more than one Traxxas surface vehicle could pick up any transmitter and any vehilce, turn them both on, and they work - no additional binding or programming required. I'm not personally familiar with the FlySky Tx. Howerver, Highlandcrawler is Get in touch with him, he is very knowledgable on those systems. He has one that is hacked and has all kind of additional mods and features available. Hope this helps
To answer the first part of your question no you cant have a given receiver bound to 2 different radios. When you bind a radio and receiver they are creating a unique connection to each other specifically. However the reverse is doable as in running multiple receivers from 1 radio. The Traxxas and Flysky both work on different systems and will not bind together. As a side note the new Axial receivers will bind to the Flysky radios. If it was me I would just sell off the Traxxas radio and receiver and go with the Flysky ones. The receivers are way cheaper for them and they are more user friendly and have more options. I recently went from a Futaba 4pl to a hacked version of the GT3B and could not be happier. I have something like 40 model memory now and 6ch with mixing features.
Highlandcrawler - Golden Child also was telling me about your "hacks" to the Flysky transmitter. Can you share them, or the links to where you found out about them? A how-to would be appreciated.
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/electronics/321742-gt3b-hack-question-answer-thread.html That is the place I first came across them thought there are others doing the same thing out there also. My current radio is modded to 8ch and I run everything I own off it. I have sold all my other radios now (4pl, dx3c, dx3r) and could not be happier. I will use 6ch in my Wraith and that will be the most so far for me. There are all sorts of preset mixes for crawlers, tanks, boats and more. It is a pretty amazing thing when modded.
