Just got my LadyBird today. This thing is SO awesome! Super tiny and has six axis gyro with auto leveling. Flies like a NAZA on steroids. Totally stable in Attitude mode and has Manual mode for acrobatics like the NAZA. I ordered mine from WowHobbies, because they are the only ones that sell it with an upgraded transmitter. Just $10 extra to get the Devo-7 (real) transmitter. Comes with battery, "two port" charger, and transmitter. I also got three extra larger batteries for $16. Xheli sells it with the regular transmitter for $129. I was stunned at how well it flies. I'll try go get some video when the wind stops. Here are some pics: ...Tiger
I was looking at this thing on Xheli and also thought it would be cool. Great to have some first-hand info - especially the better transmitter from WowHobbies. Definitely agree that the stock Tx is trash. Thanks John
So today I took the LadyBird to Redwood for my first outdoor flying. All I can say is that it's a little ROCKET! It only takes a few seconds for it to be out a couple hundred feet. It just screams in forward flight. Then naturally, being smaller than a golf ball, keeping orientation is a real trick. At least with my old eyes it is. Two or three times I got so turned around that I decided to bring it down and go for the walk. If you keep it within fifty feet or so, it's no problem. It's just that it goes that far in maybe two seconds. Anyway, the thing is really cool. It was pretty windy today and that didn't seem to bother it much at all. Toward the end of my adventure today, I got a little crazy flipping it and managed to come home with two bent props and a broken canopy. That was totally my fault for pushing the envelope too far. The thing is REALLY quick to flip. The problem is stopping it fast enough to get control back. Most of my trouble came from it flipping more than once and flying into the ground inverted. I'm going to have to work on that. : It's a tough little beast really and a blast to fly. I would certainly recommend it to anyone with 10-10 skills and 20-20 vision. ...Tiger
Check this out. It's like the little bug one but has brushless motors and costs $99. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__22780__Turnigy_Integrated_PCB_Plug_and_Play_Micro_Quad_PNP_.html
The bug is just $79 now: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__24650__Walkera_QR_Ladybird_Ultra_Micro_Quadcopter_Bind_and_Fly_.html
John - The $79 is the BNF version and that was always the price. A better place to buy is is wowhobbies.com . Ships from California and gets here in two days for same price or less. The problem with BNF is that you need a Walkera DEVO transmitter and nobody has one. The old Walkera transmitters won't work. :-( At least if you buy from Wow you can get the transmitter of your choice. I got the DEVO-7 for an extra $10. It's much better than the one that comes with the RTF version. Speaking of the RTF, xheli sent out an email today with it on sale for $119 (standard transmitter). ...Tiger
Just picked one up, 75 plus shipping RTF. http://www.xheli.com/walkeraheli-ladybird-rtf-24g.html Can't wait ;D
