OK, so I apparently need to stop spending my mornings in front of my computer with several "shopping" screens open at once! Although they aren't slated for release until late July, I just placed my order for this EXCELLENT radio to get on "the list" for delivery when they are available!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I have the bug and it bit me in my nut s@ck! Thank God for an understanding wife and a good job! I sold my Futaba T10CAP and a few airplanes to get the funds for this. Sad to see the T10 go, but after the swap & shop I didn't want to push my luck with the wife I was also going to sell my DX8 when this arrives, but I think I'll keep it as a backup - it really is a great radio. CAN'T WAIT ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Rc CRACK doing it's worst eh! Nice Radio for sure, although I would have liked to get my hands on your T10CAP as I was looking at that Tx as the upgrade to my DX6i Nevertheless, congratulations ya lucky devil Speaking of Futaba, look at the following example of beautiful ... ... Think it's time "they" put colour on ALL of em !?! [shadow=grey,left]w00d[/shadow] http://i49.servimg.com/u/f49/13/29/36/05/futk9511.jpg
Tiger, or anyone that knows radio, does anyone have a way to measure RF output on our radios? I would love to know the true outputs at the various radio settings.
"Various radio settings" What do you mean by that? I have a Bird power meter and an HP 8594E but I don't know how you'd get connected to the Tx output. You could measure relative changes in radiated power pretty easy. What exactly are you trying to do? ...Tiger
Guess I could have been more clear. But typing on the cell phone here. The DX6i and other Spektrum radios have three power settings. USA France and EU. The US is the highest power output at 100 mw I think and the others are really low. But dont know for sure on the numbers. There is a U.FL connector inside of the radio that can be brought out to a SMA connector for direct connection to a watt meter. Just trying to see what the actual power is of these things.
If you're willing to accept the US as 100mw then you can just measure the radiated power difference when you switch modes using an antenna on the analyzer. I'll bet that will get you within a db or so. ...Tiger
Did you check it out? Did you feel the gimbals? I think it has all the switches and rotary knobs one could want.
Sorry - I didn't even look at it. I asked Matt "what's new" and he said that. Didn't interest me at all. ...Tiger
No, not yet. I wasn't expecting it until the end of July so I hadn't set aside the rest of the money needed to get it. I tried to rearrange my "toy" money to get it, but it would have left me too short for my current projects
