I have a link to share for all you southern Oregon and northern California folks. For those who didn't already know, there's a cool eclipse headed your way may 20th. We will get to see it up here too but not a view like yours. http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/highlights/A-Preview-of-May-20ths-Annular-Eclipse-141037803.html
I've only had the chance to see ONE Solar Eclipse in my life and on the day it was supposed to happen it was CLOUDY, bah ... It did get really dark though so that was pretty different ...
NO, not without the equipment to protect your eyes and the camera ... Save me some typing and Google up what you need to photograph a solar eclipse ... Arc-welding helmet works if you what to just view it LOL, I just noticed ... hehe Tonight ?? Is this NOT a Solar Eclipse!?! Lunar Eclipse's are the nighttime party
It's supposed to be mostly cloudy here tomorrow evening but even so, there should be quite a noticeable change from lite to dark. That's what I've heard any way. I remember one many years ago that happened not long after sunup that was on an overcast day. That one got pretty dark as I remember it.
This guy had better luck with the weather, same Eclipse (Solar) just the other side of the Pacific w/ less clouds ... Japan http://regex.info/blog/2012-05-21/1997 ... and from a different City http://regex.info/blog/2012-05-21/1996 [hr]
They had some nice shots. 8) .... ;D Using a filter that cuts 3,199/3,200 of the light. That's quite a filter.
