How much did you end up getting, or is it still piling up?

Stated snowing about 4pm and ended a couple of hours later
... It didn't last all that long but allot came down in the time it was around
... We got about 6 inches which is about average for this time of year

EDIT: This shot is more or less the first shots I showed in the first post ...
... but this is 'really' as it came out from the camera, this time I DIDN'T crop for size nor composition

Are you sure you didn't just apply a semi-opaque overlay?  ;)

Shooting in snow never comes out like those few gracefully falling flakes like in the movies.  If you use a flash you're going to get something akin to a "Paranormal Activity/Blair Witch" movie.

This SHOT was taken using the camera's Auto setting and teh FLASH ...
... the BIG white blobs are actually out-of-focus snowflakes that we're nearer the window I shot through --->

In my opinion it's technically JUST a CRAP photo but on another level it appealed to me so I posted it ...
... Others might disagree? It's ALL relative to the eye of the beholder, as in "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"?

Well compare the above to it's untouched original ...
... Allot of the time I'm turning CRAP into Images I can use
... I'd BET you would have 'cropped' it exactly as I did

    [IMG]    [IMG]    [IMG]

LMAO, yes that is my ARM to the right hand side ...
... and that's as CLOSE as ANYONE is ever going to GET in the way of a 'Self' Portrait  [IMG]

PS: I have no idea what the orange is below the actual flash ??

Is there a IR sensor for range finding?

    [quote author=w00d link=topic=2601.msg15031#msg15031 date=1359488095]
Today it actually is the FOG w/ a little rain you can see on my window ;)

and then WE adjust the image, the 'brightness' and the 'colours' making them a bit more 'vibrant'
... w/ a touch of 'Sharpening' added to show the Rain a wee-bit-better on the window

Did you use Photoshop for this tweak or your other editor?

I also thought the 'orange' might have been a infra-red sensor on the camera but there is nothing on the camera in that area that would lead me to believe that

And NOPE not Photoshop but Paintshop Pro X4 so you was close but no cigar [IMG] LOL, J/K but it was Paintshop Pro I used

Moving on and to let it never be said my posts a lacking in content, LOL.
... Some might argue that the above PIC would be better without the RAIN on the window.
... Which IMO is a valid argument but given I wanted the image to give one the feeling of the FOG and RAIN I thought better to keep it in.

Nevertheless if I DID WANT to spend the HOURS on this photo and if had had wanted to I could have removed the rain on the windows.
... for e.g: I cleaned a small portion of the image just to prove I could have :p

Being anal retentive for detail helps but it's pretty much how I work when removing dust in my 'product' shots

    EDIT: Again the 'original'
... NO Cropping, Brightness, Contrast nor Colour adjustments

K, I figured out what that is, it's actually another image of the flash. One reflected back to the window off the front of the lens. I was able to recreate the effect by shooting into a mirror which crated the same shape the only difference was it was a blue image this time. Glad I figured that out, so I can sleep tonight ...

My next question was going to be if you have double-pane glass.  I was thinking the second reflection could be from the outer pane.

... and THAT would have been a GOOD guess
... I think that MIGHT be the reason for the change in the colour I'm seeing between the 'orange' on the window and mirror shot's 'blue' colour

PS: FYI, given I'm doing a little tutorial here I've update my 'Tutorial' page (added more) and I've also added it to my SIG [IMG]
