This began with the air brush and ended with dropping paint blobs and using compressed air to spread it out. (i'm just too impatient) The end result was very unique, one of a kind.

What a great truck (Bug) Smitty. Is that Integy roll cage metal? It looks welded. You mentioned that the sway bars color, black/front, silver/rear and 5mm on the rear. Is that a offset dimension on the end linkage? What is the "Sharpie center driveline modification"? Great job on the build!
It truly is a "truck" but with a "bug" personality. The inner roll cage is aluminum, It's purpose, i'm told, is to minimize the flex of the shock towers and chassis. http://www.integy.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=7992&p_catid=268 The sway bars come in a set with two weights (thickness) of bars. The lighter one being silver. The 0mm and 5mm measurements are how much of the bar extends beyond the fitment to the a-arm linkage. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_25_1466_1331/products_id/158975/n/Traxxas-Sway-Bar-Kit-Front-Rear?utm_source=Google-Base&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Product-Feeds&source=google_ext The Sharpie mod is an attempt at keeping the small rocks from grinding away the center driveline. I just realized the sharpie mod is covered up by the under tray in the pic. I was undecided about where I should post this thread, here or in introductions. This is my attempt at letting you guys and gals know a little more about me and my hobby.
I'd like to know more about the Sharpie mod. I see some grinding on my Hyper 10SC center drive shafts and if the mod carries over somehow I might also give it a go. The roll cage is sweet looking. I think my truck is stiff enough with the SCRC shock towers and the new SCRC braces. But on your Bug it looks like almost a "Scale" thing since so many 1/1 scale bugs had roll cages. That's what I suspected the 5mm figure meant. I have been looking for stiffer sway bars for my Hyper 10SC and would also like to step up to a slightly stiffer setting. Maybe I can try the offset and see how that works first. You posted in the correct forum.
On the slash 4x4 the center driveline is enclosed by the chassis and a clear cover. The issue is, it's open in the front where the driveline exits the chassis. The sharpie mod used a cap from a sharpie pen as a shroud in this opening. By cutting the cap near the pocket clip, the resulting hole is just big enough for the driveline to pass through. The pen cap is then glued into the driveline channel. This effectively eliminates the rocks an entry. I've looked through YouTube and cannot find a video of the mod. I don't think it's applicable to your 10SC because your drivelines are open.
Thanks for the info. I was surprised to see the drive shafts scraped on my truck just because it is open. Darn stones get into everything.
You probably should have struck while the iron was hot. Now, the heat of the moment is gone, i'm not so sure I want to part with it. Although the bug-Slash 4x4 has taken a back seat to the SSC-LCG Slash 4x4. And I could use the funds for the projects at hand. PM me with your best offer and let me consider it.
