Some of you might know I'm a photographer. I'm working to take my hobby more seriously and want to see if I can cross-over two of my favorite things: r/c racing and photography. I'm no stranger to taking my camera to the track and shooting away, but besides just sharing some of the cool ones with my friends here, the photos just sit on my hard drive. So, a question to my fellow racers, would you pay for a super-cool photo of your car/truck tearing it up on the track? I'm thinking about $20 for a high-quality 11x14" or about $15 for an 8x10" - does this seem reasonable? Would anybody want one?
I have hundreds more and I've upgraded my gear quite considerably since these were taken, but that would give you a rough idea.
I've gotten quite a few air shots, but the disappointing thing about them is that since I shoot from the ground and I'm generally kneeling down (that's most comfortable for me, plus it keeps me out of the way of the drivers view), most air shots tend to be mostly the bottom of the chassis and the side of the car. So it doesn't always look as cool as what you see on the driver's stand. But, if you're interested I can shoot whatever you think you want!
Heck yeah my garage im working on turning it into my man cave and with my rc's its getting there and could use some pics of them forsure! I think those pice's are pretty good for the quality!!
I'm glad to hear the positive reaction. When racing season gets back underway I'll be sure to bring my gear with me and bring it up at pit meetings. Also, I could do more than limit it to racing photos. If there's bashers, drifters or crawlers out there that want photos done send me a message and we can meet up!
Definitely will want an action drift shot. For my short course. I think it would be cool if were only a few feet off a jump but a straight face shot. Like its coming at you.
