So I got these integy piggyback front shocks for the rustler. First, I had a hard time getting all the air out of the oil when i first assembled them. When I took it out for the first time with the new shocks, after about 20 minutes, the shocks were sagging so much that the bumper was resting on the ground. Rebuilt them three more times now. Took it out today, same thing. There was no rebound. They just stayed compressed. I have changed the springs numerous times. What the heck is going on?? I'm about ready to toss these shocks and put the stockers back on. Any help?
I have never seen these apart, but I am guessing that the valve is sticking or dragging on the inside of the shock body.It would be my suggestion, to empty at least one , and push the shaft through it's stroke (with out oil or a spring) -with the cap off, then on.Check for plastic casting nubs ect. on the valving, that might need to be sanded.If this is all good , you may need to go to a larger valve, or lighter oil= too much drag pulling oil through valving holes that are too small. (just a guess)
That makes total sense. I am running 50w, I'll check the said parts and regroup. Maybe go back to 30w with a stiffer spring, or drill out the piston holes. Now that you mention it, when I first filled them up, it was pretty stiff to pull/push the piston through.
I had a set of these on my rusty, throw them away, junk in my opinion, stockers are a way better shock.
Yeah, I've been reading a lot of negative comments on the web about Integy in general. I'll giver her a go one more time, then, if nothing, I'll use them for target practice ;p
I saw Bartjuice break a brand new Integy CVD on his first or second jump with his Rustler at B Street. I got to look at the broken part, which was the axle, and it looked like the parts were some kind of pot metal, not machined steel. Maybe it was just a defective part, but it didn't convince me to go out and buy Integy CVDs.
ya integy is crap i would just toss them and go with the trx big bores or the proline power strokes. the nice thing about the power strockes is that the have a larger shock shaft than the trx big bores.
Agree. I like those ProLine power strokes Adam is using on his custom Rustler VXL. and Sleadd's has them now at a reduced price around $40 which makes them even more attractive.
