Airstar Intl, bought a new Haas VMC last year and are making lots of RC Helicopter parts with it now....
Yeah, that's them. Joe has done well for himself. This is the company I visited last year in california. The pics are from his facebook. His life story is one of those that begins with "He arrived in LA with nothing but a clean pair of socks, and his RC helicopter" went from a drill press, to a Bridgeport, to a Tormach, to a Haas. He has made custom helicopters for Kim Kardashian's family as well as others. The mongoose line is actually priced very well I think, his industrial stuff is waaaaay up there though.
PP - You've got the Bridgeport and the Tormach. So when are you going to be ready for the Haas? ...Tiger
I never owned a drill press, and have never hung out with Kim Kardashian, so my chances are pretty low at the moment. But with any luck, and the right RC helicopter design, I just might be able to pull it off someday, maybe....... I still think I could make something out of my Christmas tree idea.........
Here is a recent Podcast interview of Joseph from Airstar talking about the early days of video filming and where things are headed. About 30 mins long. http://traffic.libsyn.com/insideheli/ATTF_263_-_Josef_Joebstl_From_Airstar_International.mp3 http://insideheli.libsyn.com/rss
I listened to the entire podcast. That guy sounds very interesting. He's been at it quite a long time. Thanks for the podcast tip, I'm going to subscribe to that one.

Do you think Oregon is a market they need representation in? I wonder if we have a large enough market for them here.
