Does anyone know of a local source for some quality magnets? I usually order them online but need some now kinda thing. I need some thin squares that are capable of holding a pound or so through 1/4" glass. I found some cheapo neo buttons but they are way small for my needs. Any ideas?
I'm sorry that I can't help you, but I did want to contribute to how funny it sounds that you have a "need some now" situation for rare earth magnets. It just strikes me funny, that's all.
Sometimes a guys just cant wait . Unfortunately its a minor aquarium emergency that has me in the rush and I had some costly fatality's. Common silicon could solve my problem but that as does ordering online takes time to dry and cure that I don't have. I have arranged a temp fix but still need some magnets if anyone has a local source. It is funny how we say odd things not even thinking sometimes that sound so silly lol.
On a semi-related note I keep fish too! I have a 55-gallon freshwater that's naturally planted. What kind of tank do you keep?
Cool I was wondering if there were any fellow aquarist on the forum. I also am mainly a freshwater guy with marine dreams. Due to some water condition problems I only currently have 1 planted tank that houses our breeder Guppies. Even then its just a little Java moss and some bamboo. I am just starting to learn a lot more about aquascaping and will be planting my first attempt at an Iwagumi arrangement in a 10g this week. I have a fish sickness that has left me with multiple tanks per room now and always looking for more room for expansion. I even found myself in a heated debate this morning with my wife about a tank in the bathroom :. My favorite tank we have is a 55 gallon with my catfish in it. I have a baby 8" Channel Cat and a pair of Featherfin adults. They are all eating machines. It's like watching a bunch of vacuum cleaners. The tank I had the problem in was a 40g that housed a pair of Snakeskin Discus. I had a runaway power head that got loose and sucked one onto the exposed intake. Sadly by the time I caught it she had passed and the male was so stressed he was almost white and his spots were gone. I still don't know if he is going to be okay.
Wow, I'm sorry to hear about the mishap. I hope your other Disc will be okay, those guys are super-picky from what I understand. I sent you a PM too so we can talk fish stuff!
