Here is a pretty cool craft, talented young fella flying it too.
Aww man, he stole my idea! : That is what this whole thread was all about: http://southernoregonrc.com/index.php?topic=700.msg4957 But my idea was to use a tricopter system, but mount it on a P38 Lightning type of body so the rear prop would be in-between the two booms and just in front of the rear tail surfaces. I would have had the motors snap into position instead of move slow. I figured while in VTOL mode you could get up high, fly forward (or even put it into a shallow dive), then snap the props forward and continue like a plane.
Very cool. With any luck HobbyKing will shell out the cash to pick this up and sell it as a kit with their KK board!
Go with your idea, could be it will be better than the video posted. Also doesn't hurt to see what others have done to improve on a project. Two heads are usually better than one. Fellas like you and the guy in the video are what keep the hobby moving forward by leaps and bounds and interesting, to say the least.
At first and w/ a quick glace I thought "Yeah so what, whats the BIG deal" Then I realized what they are DOING then thought "WOW, that's pretty cool" It's LIKE teh Tilt-Rotor (Osprey) but with better "stability ***" or as Tiger says "The best of two worlds" +1 This gets, three *** Ever TRY flying the "Osprey" in your simulator, if SO you'll know it's not easy to fly thus why I quoted stability w/ the Tilt-Rotor design
