I want to make the thread to keep people that are interested with drifting up to date with whats going on.
We got the ok and a spot. Im gonna take the reigns as maintenance and prob most of the cost.im sure most of you guys have seen these videos. But here's an example of how I'd like it to look. Basically just want that downhill windy road type "touge" 峠. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%C5%8Dge with plenty of scale features.  Road marking, stop signs, turf. Ect.. will keep updates going. And please feel free to express your self.

Is the drift track going to be asphalt like in the video?

Yes, it will produce longevity and less maintenance for the course. I'll build up and form with dirt. Then roll asphalt onto the lanes. Gonna be pretty exciting.  Possibly be combined with a crawler course as well. Need to talk with
adam more about how were gonna do that though.

Are you going to use fine grained asphalt or that coarse stuff?  I think fine grained would be better and more scale.

Future drift spot at PBR Hobbies.  Sunday richard, a buddy of mine james and I will be clearing out the wood to get a fresh start on building up. Adam I know u want the plywood.  But what else did u want to keep. we were gonna dump the rest in white city.

Anything worth using again!  Wood cost as much as steel lately so we reuse what we can. If you can just take the good bits and put them in the storage room upstairs.

So the drift track will be outside of the building?  Are you going to build a roof over the drift track?

We were thinking of like one of those carport tents. But unless someone else wants to buy it. I think it'll be fine till winter then ill get one. Where the spot is, the building and fence create plenty of shade. I would only be worried about water damage to the rc's. The track will be weather proof.

Or unless we do some water proffing might be fun to drift in the rain.

I don't run my stuff in the rain, it's just too much hassle to me to dry and clean up and hard on the bearings.  I admit that my after-run maintenance is lacking for my surface stuff.  If it doesn't brush off with a soft bristled paint brush it isn't getting done.

Im the same. I usually wait 2 days then do a tear down to clean. Should do it right away. But for my drifter, it usually just needs some computer duster help, it never gets to dirty.
Hey john you got a nice body to drift with. Or are u still rolling a stratus race body.

Mostly I have Touring Car race bodies and I think they are all Stratus' but I do have a still unpainted McLaren F1.

Those are clear light buckets with decals inside, but LEDs could be installed.

Heres a layout of that course. I want to kinda replicate it. Throw in an over pass for sure. But want to base it of this. I think it'll make a fun track for multi uses .

That's a great layout.  Looks like you could do some drift-parking moves and some "Fast and Furious" downtown driving.
