Naza Hex configuration. One of the problems we work around, is getting the props and legs out of the camera view. Next comes power to lift the stuff we stack on the frame. It would appear the easiest solution would be either a tri motor, or a quad motor with the front legs spread. Go to six motors and the camera is hanging on the bottom, begging for damage. It looks like Naza went to a great deal of trouble, configuring six motors, Two mounted back to back on each of three legs. Now we have the tri configuration with power, and easy camera clearance. Perhaps I haven’t seen what I looked at, but don’t recall any video, available frames, or posts about this configuration. Anyone out there, research the pluses and minuses, of such a configuration? Naza must have seen potential or they wouldn’t have spent time on it. Scratching my head and wondering what we are missing -- LEM
John, OK - You got me! Hex frame arrived today. Have a Naza-M, the motors and waiting for the last two controllers. Time to find a plastic bowl. What did you stick in there. Just the camera and foam? No gimbal? How big is the bowl, brand, shape, and where can I find one. Larry
Larry, The bowl I'm using is a "Sterilite" brand 2.5 quarts / 2.5 liters size. It is a "round-ish" shape. It is basically round but has flats on four sides, one of which I used to cut out a hole for my Contour HD camera to look through. I got it at Fred Meyers in Grants Pass. Right now I am using foam only while I work on my gimbal mount. My gimbal will fit inside with some spacers lowering it approximately 0.5 inch from the bottom frame plate. John
I had a photo of my gimbal on here somewhere. Maybe you'll get to see it in person soon. I know I want to see your X8 too.
