HaHa, not exactly a "real" flight but my first nevertheless ... My "simulated" QUAD solo

No as easy to fly as I thought they would be ...

Is that a flight simulator or a picture that you made?

To the best of my knowledge the only way to watch Phoenix (Recorder Files) clips is within Phoenix

But it's a GOOD question I have been trying to figure out ...
... only thought I've had was shooting the monitor over my shoulder, not the best idea but the only one so far

Maybe Google, if there's anything to find on Google I'll see if I can find it

Ummm I wonder am I teh only one HERE that runs Phoenix?
I know allot of plane pilots prefer Real Flight and Phoenix is the preference of Helicopter flyers,
well according to the consensus over at HeliFreak it is

I know some folks like this one on Windows:

http://camstudio.org/

This one is also free:

This one has a free trial:

heheh thanks Yada, looks like CamStudio may work ...

After the a short test the video produced was somewhat choppy. Maybe after I learn the program I maybe be able to improve upon that!?!

[shrugs, insert the passage of time here] [IMG]

So I spent a little time playing w/ CamStudio and we have a Catch 22 situation. In order to get good performance out of CamStudio we need to RUN my Flight Simulator in windowed mode but unfortunately the performance of the SIM suffered when run in window-mode. When running the SIM at full-screen mode the performance of CamStudio then suffered ...

... In short I need a faster machine as this old BOX is not able to do both (at the same time) that well. Either way the video produced will be choppy but I will be able to make "something" that will come close to being watchable

Snagit I have used in the past and it's great for grabbing "gaming" screens but unless I'm missing something it don't do video

I use both Realflight and Phoenix. I have Realflight setup on a quad-core machine with 16GB RAM and a seriously whoop-ass video card running dual 26-inch LCD's. The realism is incredible! Phoenix I have setup on my laptop and use it more for demos and helping others to learn to fly ;) I like the Realflight planes selection better. I haven't tried loading any heli profiles on either one yet though :p

Hmm, I was thinking just the opposite. It flys esier than my little Blade mSR any way.  ???

Speaking from hands-on vs. simulator, I have to agree with Bill. I can fly my Blade MQX much easier than my Blade mSR.

I was having problem with orientation, was having trouble seeing that little
orange ball that indicates forward

TIP: [IMG] NEVER Shut-off your computer whilst UPLOADING a VIDEO to YouTube!  [IMG]

You will be somewhat unhappy the next morning! {LMAO} I was uploading
a little clip for y'all but we will have to wait until I've finished the re-try

Here's a test video using CamStudio and thanks again Yoda

I was going for a test of the software, CamStudio more than concentrating on my
flying which was horrible! Well that's the story I'm sticking with ...

You should be able to see the "choppy" frames of which I spoke

EDIT: Going for the obvious here, {LOL} Video is up

w00d, you must have a terrible Internet connection.  Are you on cable, DSL or something else?

wOOd, that quad is flying much quicker and banking a lot steeper than the one on my sim. I have not messed with the model editor though. Have you?

Nope that's they way she fly's, all natural ... no mods to the physics

I handn't thought about it but maybe CamStudio has added some speed, I'll have to have a look

I think you flew it really well.  I need to see if there is a Linux based SIM.

Well after the last hour or so trying it's sad I say because I really wanted CamStudio to work for me ...

... Unfortunate I simply don't have the Horse Power, can't FLY the SIM and record video at the same time! One or the other but not both. AND the APP being quite "buggy" wasn't lost on me either but I was able to get around that!

Sure I can do some basic flight routines but the performance HIT is just too great to really show what a SIM is capable of doing. About all I could do with the recorder is record what I'm doing on the computer screen, key-clicks and rodent moves and the what-not. Which nevertheless I'm going to still find useful for making little "Tutorials"

But sorry I can't show anything much more on the SIM except for the most basic of basic flying, bla
