    HOORAY!

Finally was able to save some coin and got a new Losi MRC.  Axial was at the top of my list, but also beyond my budget.  So far been an awesome crawler for me and the young'uns the past few days.  Although my 20 month old boy doesn't know the meaning of "slow" yet!  I'll get him a Maisto Crawler to bash with.

So far I've moved the battery to the rear axle, added steel weights to the front axle (on top of the servo), and trimmed the body for no tire contact at extreme angles.  I can't believe how long the stock battery lasts. I ran it for 1.5 hours straight the first night. Immediate upgrades will be Losi aluminum shocks and a Tamiya connector. Beyond that are beadlock wheels, tires, servo, etc., all the usual stuff. I'll get some pics up soon.

Does anyone out there that has or had one of these know of a good, all-around aftermarket chassis? I don't want the Duratrax GC3, and the DarkSoul Chino doesn't interest me.  Any upgrades to mention are welcome as well.

I haven't been on in a while. Are there still some guys having friendly 1.9 competitions around here?

    Big Joe -
Run from the Tamiya connecters (unless they have changed/improved)...try either Traxxas or Deans.

From the sound of things you must have the rtr model with the aluminum frame? The way to go with the mini losi is the mrc pro frame set. It outperforms all overs on the market and is genuine losi parts. The the duratrax chassis is very nice and would be a better bet for a conversion for most because it includes everything in one kit to do the conversion. The losi is better but you need to figure out what parts to get on your own. For connectors it's most common on them to use the single pin deans micro connectors. They are very small and very easy to work with. The mrc is a great little platform to get into crawling. Only hint I recommend is to save yourself time and money and buy a set of MIP driveshafts for it. That is the only mod I feel is a necessary one that everyone should do first thing. Its the weak link in the system for sure.
