If I had to guess, maybe for 'moister' effects, such as simulated rain. And sometimes objects just look better wet !?!​

I didn't notice anything looking wet, maybe I missed it. I thought maybe he was trying to make the background 1:1 objects softer by misting.

... and normally I don't like viewing ads but this one is pretty neat given the subject
