Well as most of you know I've been bashing my losi 5ive for a month plus now and really never started a build thread.

I finally decided to start one now that I have a pic file full of pics to post, lol say that 10 times.

So right out of the box the 5ive is very durable but with the stock can exhaust its a sluggish terd on wheels.

So my first upgrade was the bartolone racing pipe for the losi 5ive-$225

    Stock can

    Bartolone pipe

And it opened the stocker up big time, the low end was great but the stock motor was a bit sluggish so I put a Oniell brothers racing full mod +3 long rod 27.2 in it and it scooted pretty good but that motor was all about top end, very little bottom end so I ordered a bartolone racing 29.5 full mod +1mm stroker crank with bartolones bolt on cylinder reed and its a beast!

It's got gobs of torque and wraps out fairly well with tons of power across the band.

I also had a chat with me mate in the UK Gareth and he gave me a smokin offer I couldn't refuse on they're $1,200 BZM 28.5 TT case reed engine and victor collaborated pipe.

it should be as if not more powerful than the bartolone motor,it revvs up to 20,000+rpm and 8+HP which should be fun.

Is the last photo the motor you had at B Street this past weekend, or are you getting another motor?

That's a different motor I paid for 4 weeks ago but been waiting for the pipe to be finished up.

    Just got my vertigo parts.

2 lockers, vented clutchbell and 2 tee shirts oh and a grip of stickers too.

The machine work is awesome and the parts are beefcake too.

Is that a carbon fiber brake disk?

    Why yes it is.

It's extreme racing CF discs and they work decent so far.

Took the truck out just now with the center locker its so much fun and will drift on command.

Is it too early to ask how a carbon fiber brake disk hold up compared to a steel one?  I know Formula 1 cars run carbon fiber composite brake disks because they save weight and can operate at higher temperature than steel.  Would you say you can tell the difference on your Losi?

Not with the couple laps I was able ro run it.

The stock losi discs are aluminum and tear and rub away.

Chris bartolone says he's gonna send me a modded set of stickers to try out.

He drilled holes in the pads and saw cut the edge of the discs to scoop crap out of the way.

I'm most likely gonna end up going dual disc front and rear, gonna try a few different configurations too.

I saw a very cool 1/6 scale Humvee on eBay.  I've never heard of that brand and I doubt the body wuld hold up to any bashing, but maybe to display your 5ive it would be awesome!

    That would be neat.

I wonder what the WB is?

I'm thinking 1/6 might be too small, might fit a baja tho.

Yes, you would actually be buying a whole RC Humvee just for the body.  It does look cool though.

    That it does.

I'm thinking about making panels for the cage and run with out the rear fenders cuz they collect so much mud and dirt.

I'm also gonna hit up the coast in a week and a half so they gotta come off anyway.

    Oh got some paddles!

I cant wait to hit the beach with paddles.

Gonna have this to take too

    Should be fun.
