looking for help building RC underwater robots

I am a local science teacher and want to make my tethered underwater ROVs remote controlled.  I have never done RC stuff before but am proficient in the wired kind.  I am looking for someone to help me build two motor set ups.  This is for a big physics project I do every year with my freshmen students.

Would anyone be willing to donate a few hours to help me figure this stuff out?  I'll buy pizza!
