I've always thought that our location should be part of our avitar block. It would be a lot more useful than "Registered" or something like it displays now. Giving your location should be a required field in registration. Can't tell you how many times I've wondered where someone was. I agree with you Tiger. I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. Some of the styles do include more user data such as the location, but some do not for some reason. I've been using "Supertune" lately and it includes the location, number of messages and likes. It appears that the "Blackened" styles do also but several other skins, including "Hydrogen" do not. I will look into that. Just in case anyone missed it, the skins are user selectable. Have a look now. You should see more user info along with the user avatar now on all the skins. Please let me know if I missed anything. Please note: If the User did not enter their location in their profile it will not appear under their Avatar. I'm looking at you w00d. Eh.

Way to go John!!! I think that's a great improvement. Now what we need is a new post (or bulk emial) that asks folks to update their profile to include their location if it's missing. I think this is a change that helps to pull our little community together. Thanks for doing that! ...Tiger
Thank you John. I looked into making the location a compulsory field when registering but apparently that particular field cannot be. Strange. I think I will send out a email to the community and ask them to fill it in and see if people do it. Making it compulsory without a means of verification leaves it open to false entries so I don't know how successful it will be. I really can't see a reason for people to not want to put their city and state but who knows.
I have noticed some forums (or sites) have a MAP function (usually powered by Google Maps) where users may go to a map that may list (for example) local flying fields, local pilots or even RC Retailers within an area. Is there an Add-on or something similar that's available for this forum, where we could list everyone's location? I know there are third-party options but sometimes this feature is offered through a forums various plug-ins options. ~w00d...
w00d - Most of those maps are done through users IP address and are not always accurate. Some can also slow the website load time down so they are not very interesting. I think Tiger was looking for a way to see where particular members were located based on their posts. That could be best done by the members filling out their profile location field properly. Hint hint.
