I wanted to try some picture in picture and effects editing.

Same here.  But you can fly in the house until then.  ;)

Good video. The trick with special effects is not to over do them. And I thought this video used the special effects well. One criticism though overall it sets up the scene quite well but there were no points of interest. I mean it needed allot more close in shots of interesting things around town. Imagine if you will you were making a tourist film to promote the town for tourists where you would want to show what the town has to offer ...

    Thank you w00d.

They call that "B Roll" and I was thinking about adding some, but you can't add what you don't have.  I'll have to talk to my second unit camera crew...oh wait, that's me, it's all me!  Dammit!

These new videos are re-edited material from this past summer for practice learning a new video editor.  In this case besides the couple effects I wanted to do some picture in picture with rudimentary animation, moving the PIP from one position to another and changing the perspective.

Pretty nice John. I liked the nice sunny weather too.
You know, if your got yourself a helmet and another GoPro or the like you could do it all.  ;D

    I'm missing that weather too!

I don't know about the helmet, but I have some ideas for additional video.

Yup constructive criticism is good, that said I have seen a steady improvement over your earlier work
... Anyhow mix it up with some high and low shots to keep it interesting. Don't be afraid to get close and fill the frame!
