Who wasn't into slot cars back in the day? I remember going to our local track where you could rent a lane for a while and run your cars on it. You had to hook your own controller up to the binding posts with banana plugs or alligator clips. The tracks were huge and fantastic. Our local slot car track used to be a great place to spend a whole day of your weekend. If you would have told us back then that we'd have remotely controlled cars and trucks that would have a range greater than your whole block we would have thought you were crazy. If you were into slot cars and a fan of the old big local track you might enjoy reading this: History of Slot Car Racking...by John Ford http://www.scaleautoracing.com/slothistory/history.html I saw these tracks below and it brought back memories.
