So I met up with knightrider today to share my venue for a possible drift track. Indoors, climate controled, HUGE area. Lots of space for working on cars. Family/Kid friendly. It's awesome.

I'm wanting to get a bunch of 3' sections of PVC and couplers so we can store everything in a tote and set up the track (or any variation we come up with) and tear it down as the location is a family business that is open Tuesday through Saturday. I think we decided that early Sunday would be best. Although we can use it most days after 6, and all day Sunday/Monday.

So far I know of 4 of us (one not on the forum) that are wanting to meet up. I store my stuff down there and mess around most weekends so it would be pretty active. I would like to do weekly meets if we can get everything set up!

    Thoughts?

I can donate a $20.00, for pvc, although Sundays will leave me out. The cause seems worthy enough-anything to keep people interested in the hobby. would flex pipe/downspout  be cheaper??? -your call, your show,I don't know ;D

Exactly. This is all super loose and up to everyone else at this point. I would even go down multiple days on occasion, or spur of the moment meet ups. I work nearly the same schedule the store is open so it is really whatever will suit the majority (hopefully all).

I really appreciate the offer to donate, it will help out a lot! I will also look into the other materials and see what is best. I apreciate the input, I'm super stoked about this!

Edit; After looking at some options for tubing, I really think I want to stick with PVC. Especially since we can't secure the tuning to the floor beyond maybe tape, so I want it to have some rigidity. Do you guys think 1" would be good, or should we spend a bit more and go 2"?

If your running indoor onroad then 1" schedule 40 is about the most cost effective solution.  Can you give a square footage estimate or length width dimension?

You name it. From pan cars to a ft tc4. All sitting in a box in storage. You have to remember four years ago we ran indoor carpet at chads.

I'll get some measurments today. I was worried that sliding into 1" the cars might pop over but this is my first track build so all of your input is really helpful.

I just got back into the hobby when Chad closed the carpet track and moved to the place on Crater Lake Highway.  I was under the impression that they only ran Associated 18R 1/18 cars on his carpet track.

Well that would be why you never listen to people since they are always WRONG.  We ran everything there, if it moved it was put on the track.  I also race up in yakima and in portland on carpet and asphalt.  Drifting is not my thing since it does not require much skill and doesn't seem to take off here in the states as racing does, but I figure the way this gentleman is talking then there should be ample room to do either.

No I'm not bipartisan to just you.  People generally have no idea what I do, what I have or the amount of knowledge I have gained from 20 years in the industry.  I'm not one to just blurt out that I own/owned almost every RC vehicle made since to me that just looks boisterous.  I will say that I have an addiction though.  8)

You must have a really big garage, or small RC cars.  ;)
