You should have waited to post this on the first of April.  Talk about bogus!

I'm saying this absolutely positively without any reservation DOES NOT WORK!  Not even a little bit maybe!

What is it supposed to be? Where is the power coming from?

No!  I haven't tried to fly either.  I looked in a mirror and noticed I didn't have any wings so I didn't see the point.  I grant you the video was clever and well done, but the basic physics is so flawed that it's totally ridiculous.  If you look at the feedback under the video, you will notice that pretty much everyone realized it was a hoax.  That coil is just one giant short circuit with a nice magnet attached so you can stick it to your refrig or something.  The smaller coil coming out of the center is probably for pulling the cork out of your wine.  The motor has the battery in it and the coil completes the circuit for that.  Did you notice that when the motor was attached to the meter/coil that the voltage didn't even drop 10 millivolts (last digit)?  In the first few seconds of the video I thought maybe this was going to be about induction of energy into a coil.  Then I noticed that the motor was DC (note +/- on terminals) and the meter was set to DC (zoom on the switch).  Any possible induction would have to be AC.  I was trying to give this the benefit of the doubt when it started, but that all ended in just a few seconds.  Even if the coil was picking up some miraculous new kind of energy, its orientation would have a huge impact on its output, but didn't when he moved it around.  Oh... And the meter was just reading a voltage that was internal to it.  The probes just completed the circuit through the coil like it did for the motor.  This whole thing would be so easy to duplicate!  This really was well done so I'm sure a lot of people got sucked in by it.  Stuff like this is fun, but I think it should include an explanation of how it works at the end for the sake of those that might think it was real.

Anyway... Thanks for posting.  It was fun to watch.  :)

I'm pretty sure I saw you trying to fly at the Redwood school.  ;)

I guess the DC voltage kind of was a giveaway...  ;D

GPS - Seems like all I fly now are tocos.  :)

Hey... I was thinking about this last night so I'll just ask you here.  What ever happened with your gyro mount for the camera?  I really wanted to see that when I was done.  Did it work?

The camera stabilizer works great but I am not happy with my airframe mounting solution because it gives me jello.

I'm failing to see how free Jell-O is a bad thing.  :-\
