Merry Christmas everyone, and happy holidays! I ordered a new frame kit for myself as an early gift from Hobby King (HK) here is the links:
    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...SK450_Glass_Fiber_Quadcopter_Frame_450mm.html
    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...onversion_Kit_for_SK450_Quadcopter_Frame.html
I plan on making a new quad with my existing parts for a more stable flight experience. I want to post pictures as I go, for now I just have the links. I am going to try to add a new picture every day until the build is done, with some minor explanations. Thanks for following, and just a small disclaimer: I am not affiliated by HK in any way shape or form, however I do have every reason to trust the products based on my past business with them both internationally and locally. Thanks!

A video of my maiden flight on my HAL RAT, disassembled it today in prep for new frame.

I voted Hex because of the carrying capacity but for just fun flying around I like my quad's performance and handling better.

I couldn't resist making another HAL Rat before I get my Dead Cat frame. Here is a pic of some spare parts I threw together to get some video today. Will post video at some point. HAL RAT 2.jpg

Another run at a frame slapped together. I couldn't help but get some more footage. Please excuse the jello effect, the Gopro Black 3+ is once again just zip tied on to the frame.

Oh yea, I guess I should have explained that lol. I bought the H.A.L (heavy aerial lift) frame from HK, both the hex and the quad, and a bunch of replacement parts in carbon fiber. I ended up with a ton of parts for which to make a MC out of, so I used the term often coined by bikers who make rat bikes, or more popular, motor enthusiast who make "rat rods". I use the term "rat" to describe something made out of random parts that don't necessarily go together. Happy Friday!!

LOL. Thanks. I have heard the term RAT Rod before, just never with reference to a quadcopter. Kudos!

Here are some pics from my day at The Swamp in Lebanon OR with my wife Kati. We tool some pics and video, the video will have to wait until tomorrow. HAL Rat flew great with a busted front left prop, just a little wobble that was taken out with the video editing process. Enjoy! -Omen. The Swamp Dec 28 2.jpg The Swamp Dec 28.jpg

Nice video. Looks like a good paintball park.
Good that nobody paintballed your quadcopter.

Lmao yea, I made sure to brief everyone about shooting the copter. I think I was the only one who didn't laugh! Seriously though, that would suck. I made sure to tell people I was just using it to film, not to recon during play--just in case. Thanks by the way, I should have another cool vid up shortly!

LOL. Flying around a dozen guys with paintball guns and not getting shot at was pretty lucky, not even a "accidental" hit. Looking forward to your next video.

My NAZA Lite set-up in anticipation for the Dead Cat frame, should be here soon! I try not to use much electric tape, but sometimes you gotta make stuff work.

Yea, 10mm into 8 (4/4) 12mm wires, 2 for each. Here is my Dead Cat frame built last night. I was half way tipsy due to new years, but I managed to get it done. Still have to home craft the landing skids. DC 1.jpg DC 2.jpg DC 3.jpg
