I just loaded KK2 Version 1.3 firmware into everyone's board last Sunday at the field and now I find out v1.4 AND v1.5 are out. V1.4 fixes the problems we were noticing Sunday and v1.5 adds camera stabilization to the board. SO awesome! KK rocks! v1.4 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1675613&page=414 v1.5 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1675613&page=425 Check out the "toss tests" with the new firmware in the video below! It's not to late to put your NAZA on eBay! ...Tiger
I promise to keep the laughing crying to myself. How come you always talk up the KK2 board but every time I see you flying you are flying a Naza?
If you would have been there Sunday, you would have seen me flying the heck out of the KK2. The fact is that my NAZA quad is the only one with lights (night flying) and my KK2 quad has no lights (day and acro flying). So... It's mostly a matter of when you see me flying. I think you usually see me at night so that's the NAZA. I like them both actually. The NAZA is great, but not everyone can afford to pay the extra $200 for no real advantage so I do tend to push the KK2. You can build an entire tricopter and be flying for what just the NAZA costs! I also like that you have more and easier control of flight characteristics with the KK2. With the NAZA, it's more like you get what they give you and do without the rest. And that's not all... Field tweaking is easy as pie on the KK2 and you have to pack along a computer to talk to your NAZA. Have you seen any NAZA tricopters lately? Nope - NAZA decided not to give you that. The KK2 is open source and you can do anything you want to do with it. Need I go on? ...Tiger
Hey Tiger, are you going to be at Redwood this Sunday? If so would you mind bringing your KK2 flash tools? I've got some extra time on my hands now and I really want to get my Scorpion finished.
That's the plan! I think everyone is going to want these upgrades. Wish I'd have seen this coming, I could have skipped doing last weeks upgrades. Oh well! Just happy to see all the improvements coming I guess. I'm sure everyone would like to see your scorpion flying. The thing is so cool. ...Tiger
Hi, Tiger ... Off the subject, sorry: A question regarding video editing in general ... ... Not to dwell on it and say I'm not complaining but I notice your video is a little dark. Given my limited experience with video editors I'm wondering, ... if they have a 'function' or the ability to make the video a bit brighter much like we can do for our sill image? Only curious as the abilities of the typical video editor? [acronym=EYE See! wOOd - That's not "my video", but I agree it's kinda dark. That's just a Youtube link to something I found interesting and posted. My experience with video editing is limited, but I do know that some editors can tweak the image. I use Adobe Premiere Elements and I know it can adjust things like brightness and contrast. I have another Sony program that can also. You probably can't do it in things like Windows Movie Maker. I actually really liked the free Movie Maker for XP, but the "upgrade" they did to it for WIN7 totally wrecked it. What a shame, because it was nice. When I take video, I usually shoot a couple samples and make sure it's going to come out ok so I don't have to do anything but stitch it together when I'm done. I might like to do more sometimes, but my computer struggles with video. ...Tiger
