Got the Replay XD camera today and did some preliminary testing. Wasn't a great day for testing with all the clouds and rain, but I couldn't keep from firing it up. Shot some video inside the shop and out in the yard. Light was best inside and the color reproduction was really excellent. Outside the colors were muted because of the overcast. The big thing I noticed outside was the lens distortion. It seems much better than the GoPro, but still pretty poor as far as I'm concerned. I had really hoped it would be better than it is. I wish you could get one of these with half the field of view. i'll have to get my hands on a GoPro again and make a definitive side by side comparison. Even if the Replay wasn't any better, I'd much prefer it because the packaging is so nice. It's smaller and much more mounting friendly for our airborne applications. It's going to be much easier to get on a gimbal and still keep a low profile. I also got an Intova camera this week. I need to make a comparison with that one to.
