In the shadows of the other races going on, RVRC had its first race day this weekend as well.
I had enough cars show to fill two classes, but chose to let everyone experience the tracks on their own for free.
The oval track was superb as always, but the the real star was the offroad track. Thanks to everyone that gave feedback in an earlier thread, it gave me a chance to make some changes.  The feedback was nothing but praise!!! Gone is the annoying rhythm section. In their place is high speed big air double doubles.  Gone is the motocross style multiple line jump section. Welcome a new smooth transition rhythm section!!! (the new rhythm section is very easy to nail. Lots of fun!!!)  To help the rhythm section, a burm has been added to the end of the front straightaway. The bowl corner is no longer (moved the burm to the end of the front straight where it is actually useful). Some of the corners have been radiused (is that a word?) to make for higher speed cornering. But the surprise attraction is the big back stretch "step down" jump! Grab the throttle for big air, or play is safe and roll the jump to keep all four on the ground.
I hope you guys come check out the changes!. We race the first and third Sundays of the month. Open practice is the second and fourth Saturdays.  For more info see the website www.roguevalleyrcclub.com

I never saw the track before the changes, but it looks like it would be fun to race on. Whats your normal race schedule?  I will bring up a group of guys from yreka to race sometime.

From the original post at the top of the page:

However, I would like to suggest that either White City or K-Falls runs one race back-to-back two weeks in a row so that their schedules alternate. Right now both tracks are running the same schedule, which I think is kinda lame.

Unfortunately, it is not very easy for us to up and change our scheduled events. RVRC submitted a schedule to Jackson County Parks back in February. It is always acceptable to add events, but the county does not take well to not following thru with the schedule we submitted.
I would be more than happy to work with our friends from Klamath Falls to try and make a better RC experience. After all, none of us like to "choose" which track to support this week. Most of us just want to race and have fun!

    I am open to suggestions!

Just a heads up..... on the website calendar it does not show a practice day for May 26...... i hope that isnt the case, because a cpl of us plan on coming up to try out the track. If it is a practice day, they should update that calendar for ppl. Hope to try it out this Saturday !

Thanks for the heads up on the website. I will have Betty update the calendar.
As far as the 1/8th scale, we do not allow 1/8th scale gas cars on the track. I am ok with 1/8th scale electric though.

This doesn't make sense to me. I ran my 1/10 gas truck on the track with 1/10 electrics. Why let 1/8 electric but not 1/8 gas run? Same thing, different scale.

Simply put, the 1/8th scale gas cars have sooooo much power and are pretty heavy, they tend to dig ditches in the track. The 1/8th electric cars are the same size, but dont have as much weight or power.  With less weight and power, there is less destruction done to the race surface.
Or would you prefer the old rule: "No 1/8th scale cars. Period." ?  ;)

Nonetheless, Chris, I am expecting to see you at the track Saturday for a few laps!!!  8)

You really have NO idea about nitro rigs do you Greg?  Our buggy and truggies are now UNDERPOWERED and LIGHTER than a comparable electric.  An 1/8th electric will tear the track up worse in much shorter order than a nitro.  Do some research like some of us so you can come to an EDUCATED decision. This is the mentality that we all have come to hate about white city, pull your radio from beside your ear and start listening.

Sorry if that kills running 1/8th electric out there but I'm sure after a few guys run there Ten SCTE out there they will kick that off to since it weighs approx. 7lbs were as my 8ight 2.0 is 5.7.  Rant over, let the fourth rike continue.

This would be the prior reason why I am so against trying to do anything to the white city track, the people there and running it are stuck in the early nineties and have no grasp on current trends.  Until there is new powers at be, then it will continue to be run how it has been run.  Just trying to get everyone on the same page as I am about were I stand and so as not to be taken as a completely useless "troll" as it was put.  I guess TQ'ing in 1/8th buggy makes me a complete "newb" to the hobby, or the fact that I may have been racing and running a few local shops longer than I think any "car" user here, Yeop were all idiots and know nothing, 1 foot bumps are better than a groomed track that even  has flowers!  Heres a comparison photo, you all be the judge on which would be more fun.

I guess our attitude about racing is poor too, which this picture sums up nicely.

I was thinking the same thing, I have had a couple 1/8th electrics and they were definitely heavier than the gas versions of the same car. I also believe they were are lot faster, especially if one were to run 6s batteries. The nitro 1/8 scale cars may be faster on a track just due to the fact that they are so much lighter than the electrics. It really did blow my mind that 1/8 electric is allowed but not 1/8 nitro because they tear up the track.

Chads track is awesome, I wish it ran more races a year because I would buy an 1/8 scale rig again just to run with those guys. Which I think is the point everyone is trying to make with the white city track. If you build it, they will come. On the other hand if you run a track with ridiculous rules and have races at the hottest point in the day (really... 1:00pm start time in white city in the summer is miserably hot) will drive people away, and they will also bash it on the local forums as well.  :-X
