Echolink FPV-HAM TechNet Conference - This was mentioned by Mike a while back.  I see on their site (http://www.fpvconference.info/) now that they are recording all the sessions for those of us that forget to listen at the right time. :)  I have not figured out yet where you go to listen to them, but I see the last two or three months have been recorded.  I've only made one of these so far, but it was pretty interesting.

I just figured out how to get to the recording and unfortunately you have to log into Echolink to do it.  That means you are still going to need a license to hear them.  I emailed the host to see if there is a way to download the recordings, but I have not heard back yet.  If they can be downloaded, I'll do it and post locally.

I just listed to the June 14 recording and there was a lot of talk about the "Polaris Seaplane".  I'm going to jump over to the seaplane thread and post about it.  Pretty cool.

Also... I got an answer back from the moderator and he said he will see if the conference recordings can be posted in the "public" area so you don't need a license to listen to them.

Thanks for this post Tiger. My main gripe was that you had to already have your license to partake in the wealth of knowledge in these conferences. When I spoke with the people about it they informed me that the license was required because the conference took place over the HAM radio frequencies - OK, that made sense. But having the recordings also require signing in to TechNet? Come on, these REALLY should be in the public area as they are no longer using the airwaves. I hope they come through, it really would be nice to hear these discussions.

I missed all of them so far! And I wanted to listen to them all, so recordings would be cool.

GC - I just got back an answer to my question about making the recordings public.  Now I understand why they can't.  They are not in any normal format.  I suppose someone could play them back and record them on their computer at the same time, but that seems like a lot of work for something that all of you will be able to log in and get soon.

PP - The response (below) tells you how to log in and play back the recordings in addition to answering my questions.  Wish I had has these simple instructions last night when I was trying to do it.

Here is the full response I got from the moderator:

    Hello John,

Unfortunately the only way to play these files back is through the
echolink interface on the computer or on the ipad/iphone/aondroid
    clients.

You need to log in and type:

    .list <enter>

you will get a list of available recordings. from her you can type:

    .play x<enter>

where the X is the recording number from the above list.

The reason these cannot be converted to other format is because these
record the chat messages as well, so one can enjoy the full content of
    the conference.

You'd think with a name like Zoltan he would be able to figure out how to convert the files to say mp3.
